please clarify , you are saying end-diastole should be measured at frame before closing MV valve, but books says at the frame after closing MV.

The meaning of before closing is ONE frame before the valve close completely (it is almost closed but not completely)- in another word, at IVCT & IVRT (any of them that has clear border & largest dimension) . I explained this concept in this clip in details: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYKlaGWZbMmIkMUsi=Ex-ZQZvwaXOaQLW4

Ok can someone please explain this for me. In school we were taught that the LV in diastole corresponds with the widest opening of the mitral value. So I am very confused.
@masteringEcho-US-cardiology Жыл бұрын
Diastole start from opening of mv up to closing at the end of diastole (q on ECG) so during diastole mv opens widely two times beginning and after p wave. So during all diastolic phase lv size increased until the end of diastole that has highest volume . Check diastolic dysfunction clips and physiology of the heart clip in channel

Hello, great video! im confused on the point of measuring LVOT and RVOT. why did you measure LVOT at mid-systole, but RVOT at end-diastole? thank you
@masteringEcho-US-cardiology3 жыл бұрын
that is the way measure those two: LVOT at largest dimeter that correspond mid or end systolic. and RVOT at largest diameter that is on the end diastole. Is that clear?

In ECHO impossible to make accurate measurements.

What on earth are you doing 😳.

I think LV sizes should be measured at end diastole, therefore mitral valve should be opened.
@masteringEcho-US-cardiology4 жыл бұрын
largest diameter , any moment right before or after closing MV.

Please show how to take good images on OBs patients. Some tall and big patients have very difficult to scan, even some times i cant get PALX images but apical are easier. Please make a video while scanning big patient or old patient. Thank you
