Currently this drug is not yet used in the treatment of cancer but studies show that it’s effectiveness against tumor suppression when used along with other anti-tumor agents. So answering to your question as of now this drug is not used to treat cervical cancer

It is not only accumulated in virus infected cell but in fact in all highly proliferative cells like tumor cells which needs higher glucose consumption, it may enter into normal cells also. But these cells will recover including the virus infected cells but the time taken to recover will hamper viral multiplication by inhibiting the glycolysis thereby significantly reducing the viral load.
