How to create two easy craft DIY's to make a gorgeous blue and white summer tablescape. This is Part 2 of my two part Chinoisserie inspired series that started with a Ginger Jar dupe! This video will show you how to dupe a Temple Jar inspired vase and beautiful blue and white chinoisserie inspired salad plates on a budget. Gorgeous table decor that you can craft using budget friendly items.
Temple Jar - plastic container bought from Costco (all you need is a square design container), Chinoisserie look paper napkins bought from www.spotlight.com.au and mod podge glue to decoupage the paper napkins on to the plastic container.
Chinoisserie Salad plates - plastic plates bought from the party section of my local supermarket, Chinoisserie look paper napkins bought from www.spotlight.com.au and mod podge glue to decoupage to the plates.

Great idea to smooth the napkin with a plastic piece!!!!! I use this technique very often, but I use the same bush to smooth it out … I guess with the plastic piece you get better results… thank you

Hi Danielle, thank you so much for your comments. I searched my kitchen bowls until I found a size that matched the indentations on my plate and then cut them around the bowls to make the circles. I used two different size bowls

I’m from Texas in this is the second video of yours I’ve watched. I also love to invite to core. You could use those beautiful plates as salad or appetizer plates if you pleated the salad or appetizer on a clear glass or plastic plate and set it on top of the blue and white ones. I am finishing up a major decoupage project. We have a designer in the states called McKenzie Childs with very expensive designs. She is known for her checks. However she also sold wrapping paper and napkins. With these I was able to create a dupe of her furniture for a nightstand. I used the ironing technique. You have inspired me to do some more decoupage. Thanks stay safe

This is so beautiful and creative. I'm looking to create a blue and white decor around my TV stand and this dupe would be terrific since I have little grandkids who could get hurt by real procelain and I don't want to wait for pretty decor.

Wow Paula, I love the chinoiserie napkins you found. I did a decoupage plate for Valentine's and I had some minor issues with it. I cant wait to see how your turns out, but I am sure it will be good because the napkins are really pretty.

You can get the blue and white material from Spotlight and then gold charger plates (mostly at xmas time from Kmart) or online anytime. Napkins and decoupage can really transform everyday household decor - I love it! Thanks for the suggestion on the green vegetables. I'll give it a go. You have to search multiple stores to find napkins you like including boutique kitchen, specialty cards stores, department stores and tk maxx.
