Don't know you will see this or not, but I will anyway write it. About that "Mera kalam hai naastik", 'kalam' word originally Arabic hai, Arabic me wo masculine he use hota hai, wahan se Persian me aaya, udhar bhi masculine form me use hota hai, then urdu me aaya, wahan bhi masculine form me use hota hai. -> Urdu se hindi me aaya toh ye feminine hogaya, I am not sure kyu but shayad isliye hua hoga kyunki hindi me iske liye lekhni (लेखनी) word tha and lekhni feminine he hota hai. -> Shabdsagar (hindi dictionary), and Rekhta (Urdu web portal) dono me kalam word ki meaning k pehle uska gender both पुल्लिंग and स्त्रीलिंग mentioned hai.

@@awkweird_panda Not a student of literature, but I really love reading/listening to traditional Hindi/Urdu poetry. Have been doing this for many years (more than a decade now), so I have seen people having similar discussions about the grammar and norms of words in Hindi that are sourced from Urdu, or Arabic languages. Though there is a downside of this as well. Every time I listen to Some of Us from this EP, I can't get over the fact that Kr$na says "Khush Misaaj" instead of "Khush Mizaj". I love the song, but that pronunciation really pinches me. Till now, no reaction channel has caught this, maybe Bhola would since she does voiceovers as well.

I think that over a period of time words also get their own local colloquial pronunciations, and this is likely one of them.

Also I totally get what you mean when you say it really pinches you hearing people mispronounce stuff. Well I am not as knowledgeable as you about languages and their pronunciations (didnt even catch on to that "khush misaaj" and "khush mizaj" thing either) but I can tell you it really irks me too, specially when people dont use the nasal sound in words like मैं and हैं . They will just say मै and है . Totally forgetting about the bindi(.) at the top. I know its a just a minor thing but its really annoying. But again as Jojo commented above, words can definitely have their own local flavour. These words get a local colloquial pronunciation over time so you cant really blame them🤷🏻‍♂ Anyways, hope you can overlook that tiny hiccup and enjoy that track. Keep vibing to poetry and music and keep sharing your knowledge with us🖖🏻
