I'm not a furry at all, but I'm wondering what is it about furries that people just treat like shit over? I'm so confused because I personally think furries are really awesome people, but whenever I see someone treat them like crap, it pisses me off. So what is it about them that make soccer mom societies treat them like they just shot someone in the balls?

Most of that seems to stay online, really. I never take online hate comments seriously, if I were ever to get them. I can't give you an accurate answer, there's many different reasons that go through people's mind. Some may be just bad experiences, some are because we're 'different' from them, or some are just plain stupid reasons.

Thanks for the info, you guys. Recently, I've actually been wanting to be a furry and I actually started to get into Anthropomorphic animals. I really want to be a dragon, btw. So is there a requirement for me to legitimately be one, or can I just be one?

OtakuWraith Buegel Respectfully, everyone has a different def. of what a Furry is, but the main one seems to be 'showing [great] interest in anthropomorphic animals'. So by definition, you're one of us. ^^ Not required, but most create [per]sona's to represent themselves for w/e reason. Any species, any color, any mix and match, whatever calls out to them the most. furryfandom.info/ is a good source for more general info, www.furaffinity.net/ is a good site as well. If you meet furs in real life, they'll probably have an account here. Art site mostly, General and Adult (filters available), but people also use it as means of communication. Conventions are probably the best experience to be around the furry fandom, en.wikifur.com/wiki/List_of_conventions_by_attendance for nearest one. There's no age limit, so really, you could come next year! ^^ If you're under 18 (like me) You'll basically have to get a sheet like a permission slip signed by a legal parent or guardian. If you're 12 and under/ you'll need to be accompanied by a registered adult.
