It just depends on their exposure to different electronic music and how much they understand how different genres are laid out. There's just SO MANY that it's really amazing to think about how much it's evolved and expanded. I've been primarily listening to electronic music for about 25 years, with some specific bands outside of it, such as Tool, Puscifer, Soundgarden, etc, and I'm constantly discovering new subgenres of music that fits such specific sonic niches that it's really mind-blowing.
