If you want to acquire all the vocabulary from this video I have a technique for you: 1 - Create flashcards about every word or phrase you don't know in this video 2 - Watch this video once a day and review your flashcards before watching the video 3 - After a week or two you'll be able to understand almost every word 4 - You'll be able to understand these words in other conversations and situations This simples technique worked for me with 3 different languages.

This is by far the best video for new learners online I have been able to find so far, I truly enjoyed learning from it and seeing the practical application of essential French words .. I think the pace is great and the sound quality fair... it is formal language rather than informal.
@YOSOYLADISCO

I agree with you....It's great and all, but I have to say this: whoevers doing the English translation is not doing a great job, I mean: the wide meaning is there, but if you wanna learn a new language the translation must be almost word by word...per example: 'mattez la pâte dans le four' is translated: 'put it in the oven'....put what in the oven'? If pâte is mass, the translation should be: put the mass in the oven...and this is done all through the video....except for that great job....

Just a little concern-if I’m having a conversation with my husband or even a male friend about which color shirt I think he should wear, I would not use the “vous”, nor would I use the “nous” as the subject when talking about *us*. I would use the familiar “tu” and “on”. 🙄

Tips for better use: 1. Listen entirely and try to understand the most of it. 2. Type down what you understood. Feel free to pause or rewind. 3. Listen again the whole thing while reading what you have written. Make corrections if you judge necessary. 4. Listen to second part (with subtitles) and correct what you missed. 5. Re-listen the whole thing shadowing the dialogue. This way you can train your skills on listening, writing and speaking.
