Sit back and relax to the soothing sounds of rain from on-board the Walt Disney World Monorail. This is an hour loop of a heavy rain storm that I filmed back in 2013 and has been turned into a 2+ hour loop.

I was a Monorail Operator when the park opened. I do not recall such a long period of rain but did enjoy a quiet time it when it did happen. The problem was if we were required to hold at a hold point for more than five minutes or so I might get sleepy. However those were the days when we could always have four guests in the front with us. Also, when the summer afteroon thunderstorms would approach we knew the ones that approached from the West always had very dark skies and were, although short were much more "violent." But we always had a good time. Be well all.😍😍😍

I love the rainy days at WDW. People would rush to the monorail at the slightest thunderstorm, we would just wear our rain ponchos and wait at the WDW railroad station at Main Street. Thanks so much for this video. I am having another insomnia episode, and hopefully this will help me sleep 😴 and dream of Magic Kingdom!

On her second trip to Disneyworld, in '08, my seven yo daughter was inconsolable because rain just poured down as soon as we arrived at our hotel, cancelling our plans to go out. But the next morning was fine, she had a great trip, and two more trips to WDW flying from our home in Phoenix in '09 and '13. She was a smart child, still is now an adult and almost 23, because she preferred vacation to designer clothes, or the latest e-gadget, and because I was a business traveler and my wife a former airline employee, she fit into our lifestyle of travel vs. possessions intuitively. The rain in this video--well, that's Florida, my apartment feels more humid just watching it, lol.

The best advice is if the roads are flooded take your shoes and socks off because we don’t want them getting soggy wet when we head back to the Disney hotels

Absolutely. After I filmed this I went to the Magic Kingdom and my feet got very wet and I had some really bad blisters for 4-5 days after.

I went to Saratoga springs for this years holiday and that night the storm was horrific it was thundery and lightning bolts were shooting out of the sky everywhere and it didn’t stop until the next morning

What the. My family has been visiting DisneyWorld for 20 years we never had the pleasure to be there during a heavy rain like this. 🤣 The last time we were there appox 3 weeks ago it was raining and they said the monorail wasn’t running cause of the rain.
