I disagree that the Hobi Hobi no Mi is inherently evil. Imo its the dream of a child that doesnt want to grow up and just wants to keep playing with their toys. Their friends grow up and stop playing and so they are turned to toys so they can keep playing forever. The parents would be sad if their kids are taken so they forget about their kids. Its the innocent dream of a child that has sinister implications.

I could agree with you if it didn't have the contract aspect but because of it I believe that the originator was a lawyer with no friends who wanted to be able to play with his trains like Thomas the Tank engine. If Ace is alive in the dark timeline then Marine Ford probably didn't happen which means Luffy and the straw hats probably would've met back at Sabaody as scheduled instead of the time skip so they didn't train for a couple years before coming together again and that's why they lost at some point. It's also possible that they never met back up and that's why they hate Luffy because he never came back to meet the crew. Also there's the possibility that this is why Jimbe hates humans because he never met Luffy because without Ace being in Impel Down Luffy wouldn't have any reason to go there and meet Jimbe while looking for Ace. Very sadge stuff indeed

@23:00 I would say that certain effects for various fruits can deactivate when they turn unconscious (do flamingo's string clones can exist even if he's unconscious, but due to the strength and self repair and reinforcing nature of the birdcage, sugar's hobi ability, and probably a few other abilities, require continuous effort so they come undone when the user loses consciousness) you actually see stuff like this in quite a few places. Sugar's agelessness never goes away even when she loses consciousness, and her not requiring sleep like a normal individual is probably a side effect of that.. (if your body no longer ages like a body normally would, it doesn't build up the specific cells in the brain that regulate sleep.. caffeine actually works by making their reabsorbtion less effective)

The anticipation of death usually reveals the best of people and their absolute worst. I believe in Fujiwara's case its the latter. I would have batted an eye early One piece, but not after Kuma's arc.
