@grennbalze It doesn't help his lore got retconned from him being a collaborator/traitor (in WC3) to him being forced into the Scourge once he was killed in the war against them (in WotLK and Chronicles). The Nerubians just being resistant to the plague with Ner'zhul's magic got retconned also.

I always thought that the Death Knights re-joined the Alliance and Horde not just because Arthas betrayed them at Light's Hope Chapel and they decided to switch sides, but because his mind control hold on them was broken by the Ashbringer and the Light. It wasn't a case of DKs having a change of heart, they were literally freed from the control of the Lich King.

@sage798 It was retconned. WC3 just had Arthas leave Muradin in the snow. The Arthas novel has Arthas actively try to heal Muradin but fail.

Fun fact: H.P. Lovecraft was Friends with Robert E. Howard the creator of Conan. They would share ideals with each other. In Conan the lovecraft Gods are canon and Conan does interact with them. Also you can say that one of the canons timelines for Conan is Lovecraft. Its crazy as hell and even Tokken liked Robort E. Howards work for little he read.

i miss wow so much man. when everything was still being developped and you would spend half the time trying to climb 'unclimbable' terrain (looking at you ironforge and zul'farak) inspecting peoples gear and just running over to people to see what theyre upto, i miss general chat when people were low levels looking for deadmine groups/runs over the general channel, i miss when you went to the barrons to get some fresh chuck norris jokes. i tried getting back into wow last year but its just not the same anymore, everyone is maxxed out and everything is so serious

The situation with Forgotten One in Warcraft 3 is very simple - it and the Faceless were "legends", as said by Anub'arak. Nerubians of today had no contact with them. Now-out-of-canon Warcraft RPG flatly stated that Nerubians decided that worshipping Old Gods is like "fly in a web worshipping the spider" - Nerubians of Azjol-Nerub weren't Old God minions, and by that point Old Gods were a much more nebulous concept. This is why some rare folks clamored for more neutral Nerubians. This all will probably retconned into the void for next expansion, but I do wish the insectoid races were granted more autonomy beyond being cannon fodder for biggest bad, like old descriptions of Azjol-Nerub implied. Edit: Surprisingly, 2022's Exploring Azeroth: Northrend actually mentions the remnants of living Azjol-Anak in the ruins of old kingdom, and Magni liked them! Perhaps we will see more of them, but who knows how much.
