Nobody cares about this, but I know no one personally who I can share with my feelings towards the Professor Layton series so I’ll just comment it here lol... I was listening to Paxmaveiti right before this video, ‘cause it’s simply one of my favorite songs from the entire series, and then saw this video and decided to go to bed listening to it... I suddenly woke up at 6 am while Paxmaveiti was playing and I can’t even begin to explain the experience, I didn’t even know it was included in this compilation, and I just can’t put into words the way PL’s music and this song in particular make me feel. I haven’t even played all of the games, but this is simply such an underrated series, and its music... anybody else feel the same? Thanks for this ost compilation btw :)

I absolutly love this music too, i only played the 4 first games becuase i never had the 3ds but recently i downloaded an emulator to play the miracle masks and i already know all the ost and its great :D Paxmaveiti it's so beautiful, i agree. The only thing we have left are basically the Katrielle animes, but I'm not such a fan of her. It's just not the same. Tho, I have to say they revealed something very interesting indeed at the last episode of the season :)

I guess mainly cos of its focus on smaller unrelated mysteries instead of one big mystery. It was interesting for them to try something new tho and I think that game style suited her.

i started playing video games regularly when i was around six. my grandma on my dad's side noticed and, so we could relate with something, bought a copy of professor layton and pandora's box when it came out. i stayed over at her house on saturday nights and we'd spend that time cooking together before sitting down and playing through the game. i was very much not good at it, being an actual child, so it was mostly me watching my grandma playing the puzzles and then talking about the story with her, but it was a really special time for me. she's been sick lately and with the pandemic i haven't been able to see her, so i decided to play through pandora's box again just for nostalgia. i forgot how much i love this series and how many memories i had with it- i've played three or four games purely to think about her. easily one of my most comforting series, and this playlist encapsulates everything i love about it. thank you very much, take care of yourself

i totally agree. i can't listen to basically ANYTHING from unwound future without feeling like someone is ripping my heart out. the game punched me in the gut when i was 10 and punched me even harder when i replayed it at age 20 :( idk why but it's one of the few storylines that is actually too much for me to handle without hurting

Oh how I fucking love and miss these games. I only played the first four but they have such a lasting impact. I hope to play at least some of the others eventually. But I insist on doing so chronologically so that may take some time. Just reading the titles of these tracks without the game's name is somehow emotional. The names do fit them well.

Argh this makes me so damn nostalgic. The Layton games are so magical, there's just something about them that really makes them stand out in my opinion. And the music, I think, is one of the most important, and most wonderful, aspects of PL, it just wouldn't be the same without it. The PL saga honestly was (and still is tbh) a huge part of my life, and to see that people are still so invested in it in 2020 warms my heart immensely. Thank you for this 🙏🏻

I'm currently playing Professor Layton and Pandora's Box (aka Diabolical Box). I first played the game when I was 8 years old and I still have the saved game from then. It was nice to revisit being my 8 year old self. Alfendi and Katrielle were like the annoying self-insert OCs that ruin the magic of a franchise for OG fans by being completely out of place in-universe. It's like they weren't written to be in the world of Professor Layton, but rather the world of Professor Layton had to be drastically changed to accommodate them. The poor quality of the games and puzzles is probably due to the passing of Akira Tago. (RIP oh, great puzzle master! You will be missed!)
