It's actually one of the only real diy show lasers on YT, awesome! I just wouldn't controll it via a audio signal but would've used an arduino or something and wrote some software for the computer to make all kind of patterns

Wow! Such a nice video. Never saw a laserprojector build just with ordinary components like the ones you used. Great!

That is so awesome. Nice idea to use hard drive actuators. This one is actually usable.

Pro trick: you can watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.

I think this is the neatest build I have ever seen with HDD actuators! Might not be galvo's but final results are very good!

It´s possible to get a construction plan and all parts thats needed...very nice work and insane project

I used Audacity to generate a sinusoidal signal. If you want to display circle You have to set the 90 degree phase shift between audio output channels. Inside the box can be any stereo amplifier. This amplifier will control the coils of the mirrors. More information You can find on the film.

Brilliant Build ! could you help to post the schematics Please thank you.

This is incredibly smart achieving results probably on par with using galvos !!!!! Could you give reference to the electronic parts that you used? Please, please please

Far from it! I build a few laser projectors at home and there is a Differenz between night and day. 1. galvos are much faster 2. galvos have much less resonanz problems 3. most galvos have closeloop drivers and therefor much more precise

@@philipweser8774 Thank you! for the beneficial insight. It makes me reconsider using HDD as galvos

Ok, i did something like this YEARS ago and the hard drive actuators are a great idea, but they shake too much, how did you make them so stable? your circles are perfect.
@geovani606243 жыл бұрын
maybe he just used more current
@5678911002 жыл бұрын
They were fixed to a sold base so that the only movement is that of the actuators.
@chemicstry2 жыл бұрын
This is an open loop control (no position feedback) so you can't really display anything precise. The circles are possible if you dial in the control frequency just right.

How much power have yours amplifiers? My has around 20w with 4ohm. Coild in hdd has 16 ohms and effect is not so good :D

Used parts do not matter. It's normal and simple audio amplifier. You can use the amplifier You have at home but check the impedance of the coils!
@MerlinDerMagier4 жыл бұрын
You could make the frequency of the horizontal signal like 1000 times as high as the vertical one then you have a filled square. Now time the laser beam correctly and you have an Projector which can display images I am building a terminal Computer with the Arduino Uno and this is my Display ;)
@geovani606243 жыл бұрын
I'm planning on making one that takes analog video signals to make a crt substitute in that task (I know about upscalers), this one looks very promising for my project
@MerlinDerMagier3 жыл бұрын
@@geovani60624 I‘d love to hear more about it when it‘s done!
@geovani606243 жыл бұрын
@@MerlinDerMagier think of it as a crt tv but instead of a cathode ray it has lazer diodes and instead of deflectio coils it has actuated mirrors like this one, I will actually use just one articulate it and miniaturize it as much as possible so it doesn't vibrate that much (Its all just in a blue print at this point, I'm still making some research to know if its possible at all to get actuators to move that without distorting the image and being inconsistent, but there's just one way to find out)
@chemicstry2 жыл бұрын
You can't do that with mechanical actuators, they are just too slow to get any reasonable resolution. CRTs work because they use magnetic deflection of electrons, which has much higher bandwidth. This could maybe work if you used spinning mirrors instead of oscillating ones, but even then you would need quite a powerful laser to get brightness.

It will be easier if you make any audio amplifier on parts that are available and you can buy.
