I cut the bottom off of my aloe plant, stand it up in a cup of water and soak for an hour to drain the aloin toxin from it. Some people may experience irritation from the aloin so it's a good idea to soak until the water turns a little yellow. It won't hurt you if you don't and you're not allergic 🙂
