Some people just realise how deadly a starting handle is. I've got two machines, one is dedicated to the Starting Handle. These things will at best kill you if not respected or worse leave you mamed for life.

I know that W9 we have can backfire so you want your thumb the right side of the handle when giving it a swing off, this series 1 is ideal with low compression and the end of the handle is straight and true along with been well oiled makes it easy to pull out. The Girls had a few attempts with no paper holder in and decopression on 3 rings so they could get a fell for before having ago was capped they got it first go although i doubt they'd manage the series 3a with a lot more compression also the weather helps a lot as you see the difference it makes to when we have ago with the 3a after just been put back together in january and a few months later in march/april at a ploughing match.

@@Ro33ie19 I don't want to sound like a busy body, but It makes me cringe when I see people toying with starting handles. Even little barn engines can kick your arse! Enjoy your machines, but teach people the dangers too, especially when on the rally field where the H&S brigade maybe present. 👍
