To buy a stock, you just have to open Kite and place a buy order and the orders will be executed almost instantly. But have you ever wondered what happens in the background after you place a trade?
There are multiple entities involved so that you can get the shares you want to buy. In this video, we look at various actors and entities involved in the ecosystem that is the stock market such as stockbrokers like Zerodha, exchanges like NSE, clearing corporations, banks and SEBI and understand what role they play.

useful. key take aways screen can not be seen fully and partially hidden by next video link over it. please rectify the same. atleast for few seconds the screen should be fully readable.

No worries just press and hold the screen where video is playing then just drag only 1 mm above Just 1mm right above and hold it for few minute then temparoryly next video links will disappear and you can read whole key take away slides. After reading you can now take out finger out of the vdo where you pressed..😊

Hello sir, it's almost 15 or 16 times i am watching this video not for me for my few friends who have zerodha account and they download Varsity app,every time they have same problem they don't understand English language that much, every time they come to translate your video to hindi,so i am requesting you, zerodha and varsity team plz upload Hindi version,it will be beneficial for new comers & all of us.more people will approach to you because they understand your explanation point in that language which they know.and thanking you,your video are tremendous the way you explain is too good.

Key takeaways from this chapter The stock market is the place to transact in equities. Stock markets exist electronically and can be accessed through a stockbroker. There are many different market participants operating in the stock markets. Every entity operating in the market has to be regulated and can operate only within the framework prescribed by the regulator. SEBI is the regulator of the securities market in India. They set the legal framework and regulate all entities interested in operating in the market. Most importantly, you need to remember that SEBI is aware of what you are doing, and they can flag you down if you are up to something fishy in the markets!
