I'm just too lazy to write all of the MANY, MANY reasons ( I made this on a school night) and used chat gpt for the best explanation to that, I didn't want to make the video boringly long because it's all rushed. I also noticed not many people watch through the whole video anyways and i kinda lost motivation to do a full on explaination of it, though of course it was my fault and shouldn't have been a lazy ass and did a thorough response. Dead calm is so epic! But also REALLY dangerous. This is because dead calm decreases Giyu’s heart rate. Meaning if he used it a second time in battle it could literally kill him. But it’s super useful since he goes so fast you can’t see him. Maybe an upper moon could see him move since well- they’re an upper rank 🤷🏼‍♀️

The fact that only strong demon slayers can grt the demon slayers can awaken tbe mark could be disgregarded in favour of the fact that Douma possesses cryokinesis. The manipulstion of ice. None of the slayers which awoke demon slayer marks ended up fighting ice related demons. Therefore, we have no references for the temperature drop, other than the fact that in real life versions of such conditions itd be quite difficult to survive, especially when you take into account that blood doesnt travel as fast and also the fact that Kocho was undergoing necrosis of the lungs

The reason why Shinobu did not awaken the mark is somewhat wrong: 1) Douma's demonic blood technique was ice. so possibly/hypothetically, he couldn't increase the temperature of his body, or for that matter the heartbeat of his. 2) For a hunter to develop the mark, he or she needs to maintain contact with someone who uses solar regeneration, and who already has the mark activated. In this case it is Tanniro. But if we remember, Shinobu could not live with him after his hunter mark appeared. For example: Both Giyuu, Sanemi, Gyomei, activated his mark, thanks to it spreading. Tanjiro lived with Giyuu, and Giyuu with Sanemi and Sanemi with gyomei. So, Shinobu fighting Douma could not have awakened his mark because he did not have contact with someone who had the mark, or directly with Tanjiro.
