at 2m rpm, assuming that the engine is based on a cummins N14 (6" stroke), the pistons are moving at 136,363.6mph. they are changing direction 4m times per minute, or 66,667 times per second. the force exerted upon the crankshaft by each piston and rod assembly (approximately 23.5 lbs for rod, bearing, piston, pin, and retainers) is roughly 50,724 tons for each directional change.

another "fun" number- when the engine explodes, the maximum range for shrapnel flying out of the black hole that is sure to create would be 1624.72 miles. this is assuming a velocity as noted above, and minimal deceleration passing through the engine block and truck.

Problem is the same as his 10k rpm 10.6 video. Beam seems to account for the fact that when you move your torque peak to higher RPM your bottom end suffers. Or better said that it took him way more boost to get the same 1700ftlbs as the stock 10.6. Still really fun though, just sad that we can’t get 1500ftlbs in a 10k rpm diesel Edit: okay went and looked, stock 10.6 1600 ftlbs on 39psi. 10k 10.6 700 ftlbs on 55psi.

My armchair expert analysis on what happens. 1:06 First explosion: Coolant overheats quickly evaporated. This damages the cylinder wall, causing oil to leak and overheat. Then the whole engine siezes. 1:53 Second explosion: some part just decided to not alive suddenly. 4:40 Third Explosion: Internal stresses cause block damage to slowly accumulate over time. With that, the oil also starts to slowly rise in temperature. At a certain point the oil begins overheating, increasing block damage, increasing the oil's heat, and so on. Then the engine siezes up. 7:50 Fourth explosion: The shock of the torque just destroys everything.
