My uncle was given 2 months to live in 2003 and he's still here today. He had bowel cancer. He's a great father to two amazing children whom he was told he'd never get to see grow up. They're in their 30's now. Keep fighting mate, you can do this.

@@mbd2901 I was about 13 years old when this happened so I don't really have much information I'm afraid. I just know what my parents told us at the time and then we went to see them it was pretty apparent to me that this was a 'goodbye visit'. My mum was helping plan the funeral and supporting my auntie by praying with her and all that. I was simply told that the cancer was advanced and that according to doctors he had about 2 months to live. 2 months later he was still alive. A few months after that he was given the all clear. It was nice seeing them again after that. As for treatment I am certain he got regular chemotherapy. They're 'normal' folk, average, not hippies or new age or anything. I don't imagine he would have known about any other way of doing things. He hated chemo therapy but he obviously just had to do it. I could tell when I saw him he wasn't well. He's obviously very lucky but I believe he fought hard for his children and is testament to the fact that the doctors aren't always correct.

@@mrfunnynames1742 well... he is OBSESED with cycling and always have been so he do a lot of sport (mainly cycling ) he ride his bike like +60km every day. The doctors gave to him a medicine that low the testosterone levels to the minimum, it is a very new treatment here in Spain for the prostate cancer. he is 63 and the Doctors said that they have never seen anyone recover like thatand it is probably because of the intense exercise.

In my years of clinical service at one of the world's finest medical institutions (Stanford Hospital) I can attest to the regenerative power of determination and attitude in the recovery process. It is not something you are taught in any clinical course of study (as far as I'm aware) but in practice it is a well-known and frequently observed phenomenon. Patients who know they will get better tend to get better, and patients who resign themselves to the will of their ailments tend to see their progress stagnate, and steadily deteriorate. I cant begin to speculate about the biological mechanisms that may be responsible for this, but it does seem as though the body responds in some way to the signals of the psyche. Also, remember that doctors tend to err on the bleaker side of a prognosis almost as a rule in order to avoid offering what may be considered a false hope, and if the patient outcome exceeds expectations, it is a happy surprise. It sounds like you have a great support system and plenty of motivation to beat this. And like many have already said in these comments, the doctors do not determine your fate. people go to an adult playground either in doors or outdoors and use fake guns that shoot tiny plastic pellets. once a person is hit by the pellet the generally are "out" and then are told to wait or walk to a "respawn point" where they get back to play again. there are multiple ways to play but thats just the general thing that happens in all game modes.

Hey Ollie. I dont know you but I have seen your video about your cancer. My wife was fighting against breast cancer which she was diagnosed with when she was 34. She has won the battle and we also have changed a lot during chemo and afterwards: No sugar intake, green tea, no alcohol, no milk, no wheat, only fish and chicken (best to go with meat from a farmer), eating walnuts, omega 3 intake from flaxseed oil, cooking only with olive oil and so on and so on. I have written a book about in on amazon because of our good experience with the stuff that we did and the results. If you want to check it just give me a quick message and Ill send it to you as a .pdf for free. I will be praying for you and I really hope that you can fight through that tough time. I know that you are basically in hell right now. What helped us the most is to always find a light in that dark, dark valley we were in and use that light, as small as it may be, to find the next step. Always just think in steps and try to light every single small step with your light of hope. Dont ever let it run out. I wish you all the best. May god be with you.

It pains me to type this. Our son was recently diagnosed with a mass in his sigmoid colon. That's all we know until his PET scan and further testing. His cancer markers are high so they expect it has spread to his liver. He is only 41. My husband had colon surgery this time last year. As a momma I'm so scared and worried. My husband beat stage 3 rectal cancer. It’s absolutely terrifying. My husband was more scared of surviving and living with a permanent ostomy bag but fortunately it was only temporary! My grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1954. There wasn’t chemotherapy so she had surgeries to keep removing the cancer. In 1956 she was diagnosed with bone cancer and given less than a year to live. She had young children and said she wanted all of them to be at least 13 or older when she died. The youngest was 7. Well,she fought and without any treatment she made it to 6 more years. And got all of her children to 13. Nothing is impossible. Fight. Sending lots of prayers.

@@Gtamonkeyyxyz05 he hasn’t beat it by any means, but he pushed it aside and began focusing on his physical health and mental health a lot more. He has also undergone many sessions of chemotherapy and had countless surgeries in an attempt to reverse some of the damage. Ultimately, he always says it’s his mental state and attitude to life which gave him a higher chance of survival, and I believe that every day! You’ve got this ❤️

Ollie, I am fighting stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, when I was diagnosed the cancer was everywhere, lungs, big tumor in the middle of my chest, and in my lymph nodes and cancer cells all throughout my body. They gave me maybe a year and a half because it being stage 4 no surgery only standard of care, 3 months after chemo and immunotherapy stopped chemo and continued with the immunotherapy, I was in remission, 8 months later it was back they made a bold decision to operate then do radiation 16 rounds. I was in remission for l year and 4 months did a scan in April of 2023 found I had a brain tumor, did surgery and 3 treatments of radiation. It will be 4 years in May since diagnosis and a year in May since brain tumor removal. I have been blessed that the cancer, treatment, surgery never took me down, I continued to work until I retired last June, I was fortunate enough to have good health insurance. I am no longer doing treatments. I go in every three months for brain scans and chest scans. So far the brain scans show all clear, chest shows some cancer but growing slowly. Always advocate for your self. The tea you drink is what I drink. One thing I can say that 8 months before I was diagnosed I had an impression to go have all my old dental work redone, I almost didn’t do it when the quoted me $15,000 had I not listened to my inner spirit I wouldn’t be here. They have proven many cancers and some diseases are from infections of the mouth and the mouth is part of our immune system. If you have any old dental work or fillings please go get it taken care of or if you haven’t had teeth cleaning for awhile. Also parasites cause cancer, a good detox and parasite medication is needed to rid the body of them. If you can get with a holistic doctor do so. Keep up the fight, mentally tell your self you are cancer free, say it everyday and believe, meditation is good and grounding. Take care.

My granny was diagnosed with bowel cancer in '92, this 4ft10 woman was told she'd less than a year to which she remarked "sure what does the doctor know". She went on to live for 12 more years just to spite the doctor. I went through my own treatment some years ago, and it sounds like you're doing more than I did. I reduced myself to bland foods and nothing savoury or spicy. Watching you talk has me in tears remembering how I went through the conversation with family and friends, its honestly the worst chat I've ever had to do. Its terrifying doing all that but if I can offer one bit of advice, do make sure to eat, keep a good diet during your treatment as your body takes a lot during it. I want to say so much more but I wish you the best, you've a fighting spirit and you're doing everything you can to kick its ass.

@@ashab1 Hey, for me it was lots of fruit and vegtables along with some meat. I cut out takeaways, sweets and soft drinks. I drank a lot of water and tried to keep my food bland as anything too spicy made me vomit.

One of the very few times that the KZbin community came together to support and give hope to another human in need 👏🏼 My thoughts are with you Ollie. You seem like such a nice fella and the world needs as many nice people as it can keep. Don't stop fighting and my hopes and heart are with you and your family. I don't want to add to the stress and confusion around 'alternative' therapies to potentially help, but nutritional ketosis ( i.e strict keto diet) has a lot of published research and evidence to support it's efficacy against many types of cancer. Along with fasting (multi day fasts are the most powerful but I fear your physical state might not support, so OMAD would be better) it could be effective. The downside to such a restricted diet is the risk of significant protein and micronutrient malnutrition, so speak to your doc about using a suitable multivitamin/ mineral and maybe an MRP or protein shake ( you can get plant based ones) to have alongside your meal. Dr Peter Attia's work is worth a look, and maybe reach out to him directly.
