A question not a criticism, why don’t you set your fire before you light it? I used to build a sort of pyre with tinder, topped with kindling. Then small wood, and proper logs. I’d light the tinder and leave it to burn. I get my wife to do the same in the house now. I’ve been doing it this way for well over 40 years, it avoids the wild panic to build the fire before the tinder burns out. I don’t camp myself as I’m tetraplegic. P.S. I realise I’m a few months late for the GAW.

Your solar panel is upside down so the wires gives some shadow. The little shadow remove more power that you can imagine. Otherwise great video !

For awhile I started hating Thanksgiving...until I cooked everything myself. My family started adding sweet twists to side dishes, gluten free diets cancelled dinner rolls, and mistreated Turkey that was so dry you wondered if it was from last Thanksgiving. Fluffy Mashed Potatoes were a fading memory with green bean casseroles now so bland that grandpa's lawn sneakers looked tastier. Whoever brings candied yams to my dinner party isn't invited next year...bleh!

Sorry to say that I didn't like the video man..I don't know many people that take firewood with them and split it on site. Maybe it's the region of the country I'm from (Cumberland Plateau) but we have fire wood, food and shelter at our disposal as far as the eye can see..we also can't afford to bring food like that with us. Growing up if we couldn't fit it in a pack we were willing to carry for a few miles, around our belts or in our hands..it wasn't necessary. We built everything once we found our spot and just survived for a few days and loved it. Like I said though, it could just be a regional thing. I'm not trying to knock you man, it is good content for the people who are into it.

Hi Kent Survival, Do you primarily use the elastic guy lines when erecting your tent or the sewn in hoops (which tend not to allow much ventilation)? I have found it easier and faster to erect using the elastic guys but just wondering how sturdy they are in wind? Thanks!

Interestingly, One Tigris doesn't seem to sell the Smokey Hut tent in olive-green or brownish hues. Everywhere I look, it's almost white. Which is unfortunate. They do sell other hot tents, though, which are less conspicuous in non-snowy nature.
