My freshman year. I was a member of the Pride of Oklahoma marching band. This is burned into my memory forever. Those were the damn days! Loved this rivalry, and this game, in particular, was classic OU/Nebraska. I miss that rivalry so much. I miss good Nebraska teams, honestly. That’s a program that should be good.

WTF. 17 or 18 yrs and only ONE NC. Just think if Saban, Meyers, Dabo, Carroll, and probably 5 others would have been there. OU has at least 2 more NCs, maybe 3 or 4.

Out of all the schools that switched conferences in the past decade, to me Nebraska leaving the Big 12 was the worst one for tradition's sake. They had so many great rivalries that they left behind and even now when they play a Big 10 heavy like Michigan or Ohio State there just isn't the same level of enthusiasm there. It is like Maryland in basketball leaving the ACC, same sort of thing.

I was 20 years old and in my junior year of college when this happened. A bunch of us crowded into the dorm lobby with a TV set and watched this game. I wasnt sure about OU in the games prior to this one, I thought they were good but still wasnt getting my hopes up. When this game happened and I saw OU come back from a 14 point deficit and score 31 unanswered points against the #1 team in the nation, I knew then, in that moment, that we were going to win the national championship. Josh Heupel was just not going to allow the team to lose... period.

Oklahoma has some absolute beasts on defense. Torrance Marshall, Roy Williams, Rocky Calmus, J.T. Thatcher and Derrick Strait were as good as any players at their positions in the country. Everage, Ryan Fisher, and Michael Thompson were all conference types. Just a great great defense. On offense, give me a Josh Norman on my team any day. That blocked punt was awesome, and the first play after halftime was epic. He abused that defensive back, and just ran right over him.

Nebraska led by 2001 Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch VS Oklahoma led by 2000 Walter Camp Award winner Josh Heupel. In addition to that, Jason White (2003 Heisman Trophy winner) is on Oklahoma's bench. Let's thrown in the Rimington Trophy winner for that year, Dominic Raiola. Collectively had a total of 8 All-Americans (added up for respected lists) and each team had a 1st teamer or 2nd teamer at every position, except for kicker, for the All Big 12 2000 team. POWERHOUSE

47:42 this play... This is the greatest catch I’ve ever seen. I was on the 50 yard line at this game with my sister. We got lucky because some season ticket holders at our church couldn’t make it to the game, and gave us the tickets. It was this play where the energy of the whole arena shifted. It was like all the years of mediocre Gibbs’ seasons, the horrendous Schnellenberger and disgraceful Blake years... All that pressure was being released in one play. It was like we all knew that this year, we were going to be champions. I can’t stress enough how cathartic that play was.

I wish that ou could get the Nebraska game like texas in the 70s an insisted non conference game which is a mandatory non conference game. I miss Nebraska. Maybe if you made this game mandatory playing ou may help instill some ol Cornhusker pride.

These 2 teams entered this game, what, both undefeated I think. We may not get a #1 vs. #2 for awhile, unfortunately......just over half-way through the 2022 season, and these two teams have combined for EIGHT total losses. Oklahoma used to not get 8 losses, themselves, over even a five year period under Bud, Barry, and Bob....but I think Brent will turn things around, given enough time. PS if you want to be an Oklahoma head coach you better have your name start with a "B"!

Oh god, you are all clueless about Solich. * 1 conf championship in 21 years, * losing bowl record at both schools at Neb only * 32-7 then 16-12. the CO game is the divider * worst loss at Neb in 40 years * first non winning season in 40 years * 2 of the worst back to back losses in 40 something years * 1-9 against ranked opponents on the road * 9 wins his last season (1 ranked opponent that finished unranked) * 1 of only 5 coaches to loss Bill Snyder (KSU) while ranked in the top 10. Billl was 5-36 in that category. The AD was absolutely spot on in firing him for not winning the games that mattered later in his time there.
