2024 starting with a bang! Vera will certainly not remember RAN II, as she was too young, but RAN III will be her floating home she saw build and with whom she will roam the world (with her parents :) ). This gift wasn't under the christmas tree.... but, truly, what a gift it is!

Johann you Malin both have really gotten into quite the rhythm of applying those sheets of fiberglass from when you first struggled with six pieces in a day in the beginning! that's impressive! I remember when i use to weld for 16 hr days I would dream of welding everytime I try and lay down and get some rest.

Before you move the boat! (I know you know all this but just in case…) You need to provide yourself a way to level the hull when it comes back in and establish datum references to build bulkheads. Go under the hull and locate three points, in sight of one another that are on a given known waterline plane. Preferably as far apart as possible. On that plane locate one point that is on a known station and buttline co-ordinate. When you bring the turned over hull back you can use the three points to establish a level plane to level the hull. You can use string and line levels to get the hull level. The single point can then be located with a plumb bob to establish a reference to a known buttline and station.

I have been watching all their videos for several years, and what I like most is the great team they form, RAN you have a great woman by your side, who follows your dreams, I congratulate you. May God continue to bless you. I like minute 19:51 of this video because you can see the size of this boat, I think it's because of the angle where you are on one end and on one side you can see your beloved wife and how small she looks in the side of the ship. and how the shot is lost in the background

I have had just enough experience working with fiberglass on old school jet boats in my youth to remember the work, and therefor marvel at the effort you put forth over the days of this marathon. What an incredible job. The exhaustion you feel after a job like this is bone deep...I hope you enjoyed your reunion with Vera, and rested up!

Huge accomplishment. I am now looking forward to seeing the hull turned over, or at least seeing the prep for turning the hull. The scary part of this whole thing is that building the hull is normally the quickest part of a boat build.

Cup of hot Peppermint tea with 1-2 tablespoons of honey before you go to bed -- amazing how little to no pain you feel the nexr day (a tip I learned from the Guatemalan family I lived with one summer- after having Climbed a volcano - me who never exercises outside of daily life) I have used that tip for every volcano and hiking excursions ever since. You are doing great, keep safe!

What a glassing marathon, 175 meters in 3 days must be truly exhausting a production feat for Johan and Malin. 14 and 15 hour days are things I only think about in the past as a commercial fisherman and Merchant Marine officer while loading/discharging in port. You both should be extremely happy with these past days of hard work. Vera was so special decorating the Christmas tree, it looked simple and quaint, she'll be a true artist decorator soon. Love from the USA and for a very very Happy New Year full of knowledgeable episodes.

You really got with it and accomplished alot.. if Johan could have afforded a cheap helper who was more interested in the learning experience than getting rich he could have built this boat in record time.. if you were here in America or I over there I would have been volunteering just for the experience.. I don't want to build a sailboat this big but I wouldn't mind building a 40 footer.. perhaps the same way as you have decided to use.
