The apostles saw Jesus, God incarnate, inexplicably shining AND ineradicable truth by God’s words, spoken. God the Father was not seen. Yet, more than ever they are absolutely sure of what they don’t see and can’t not tell it! This is an awesome assurance that the same light Christ possesses lives in us; He is illuminated AND illuminates His word by way of the Holy Spirit in order to teach us. We can know that we know He is true. How can we not teach of Him to others until He returns again, outshining the sun?!

I so appreciate the diving into the Word of God at the end of my day. It is refreshing to begin and end with the Word- like bookends to the day. Thank you Pastor Mike for the morning devotions and then these evening Bible Studies. What an encouragement they are.

loved the emphasis that prophetic word in Scripture about Christ is more sure than someone declaring that they just heard something after the fact without any advance knowledge that the event would occur. Predictive prophecy does indeed set the Bible apart from the Koran, or any other religious cult bible, in existence. The prophecies made in Deuteronomy, in Isaiah and all of the major and minor prophetic books about the nation Israel can be verified by third party historical books like Josephus in his Book of Antiquities and the early Greek and Roman Historians. Historical facts concerning Israel in the first Century and its leaders have been documented by archaeological excavations. The ancient first Century early church fathers and Roman historians corroborated the Historical figure of Christ and his claims to be king of the Jews . His life is memorialized by eyewitness accounts by the epistle writers and by the apostles many whom who had direct access to Christ and to the apostles with first hand knowledge. But if all these resources were not sufficient, we have the Dead Sea Scrolls which are preserved manuscripts of Isaiah and other fragments establishing the reliability of the old testament. These papyrus scrolls preserved in caves in the Judean desert at Qumran appear to have been copied between the third Century before Christ to the First Century AD. Because the scrolls have been carbon 14 dated and compared to archaeology and ancient language study, dates that demonstrate copying occurred between 100 bc and 500 ad Because the scrolls predate the events of Christ and because they contain all 66 chapters of Isaiah and fragments of many other old testament books, these scrolls and their contents establish authenticity for the old testament and they refute any claim that Isaiah's prophecies about Christ birth, life and death were written after the fact. Until the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947, the oldest Hebrew text of the Old Testament was the Masoretic Aleppo Codex which dates to A.D. 935 (see Patrick Zukeran at Probe Ministry re Dead Sea Scrolls). Thus the claim that the Masoretic version wrote the events after the fact. All the above is just a side excursion for PMs teaching today regarding the more reliable evidentiary nature of prophetic word contained in Scripture versus orally relayed versions without extraneous evidence. Therefore, as we were reminded, let us heed Psalm 43:3 .... send out your light and truth let them bring me to your holy hill. We were left with the encouragement to let the prophetic word be fanned into a flame looking forward to the day that one day when we see Christ face to face we will clearly see and be known as we are now fully known. 1 Cor 13:12

I dislike that you jump all around, rather than exegeting scripture in it's context. I'm not saying that you are incorrect in what you have said...but you really didn't explain the scripture in context. You actually spent very little time on the verse in the title.
