This video is really well done, I am so glad that I discovered it. I have been interested in OS2R for many years, and honestly always wondered why because of its realism that it hadn't become more popular. Thank you!

Thank you so much! That was one of our goals, because it's such a great scale to model in. I have been in 2-rail O for almost four years now (switched from HO) and have never had an issue finding equipment for my prototypes. I feature a lot of 2-rail layouts here on this channel, including my own, with more to come. Thanks again!

I have an attic that I've been thinking of converting to an area to model trains. It is pretty good-sized, but its most usable dimension is length for strait-running lines; usable width is maybe 6-6.5 ft tops. My goal is to go to a show and talk to folks about simple, but fun lay outs that they might recommend. The big attraction for me with OS2R is the track. I like two rails, not three- that just always seemed phoney, but HO is too small. Thanks again, Dave!

@ You can do a really nice OS2R layout in that space. In addition to going to a show to talk to folks, I’d also recommend this book, which has several different OS2R track plans in it as well as other helpful information: www.ebay.com/itm/185892034910?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=iWtGtb5RQrW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=MPL39I2FQvm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I really liked your video here. I'm a 3-rail modeler but I either hand lay my trackage or use Atlas code 148 2-rail track with a much smaller code 87 rail down the middle. For my next layout project, I would love to combine 2-rail and 3-rail (as they are utilizing the same rail codes) to operate side-by-side. i remember when O Scale models meant high levels of detailing and 3-rail models were basically just toys. Not true anymore, these danged 3-rail models match in detailing pound for pound (except for that lobster claw couplers) with 2-rail models and in some cases, even exceed them in detailing. In fact, I don't know why 3-rail train builders don't just go ahead and flange all drive wheels (if appropriate to the loco being modelled). Lionel did this in 1937 with their 700E NYC Hudson and it worked just fine. Anyways, all of it is just fascinating.

is 1:48 two rail track not compatible with Peco O scale track?
@ryanexpresstrains80747 ай бұрын
I believe it is. Peco O scale track is 2 rail track.
