The theme determines the projection, which determines what to maintain at the expense of what... we talk of degree of accuracy not lies 😂

@djbullet4216 if you're implying that I used hyperbole to draw attention you're not totally wrong. But even the comment you gave you admit that maps are not 100% correct. Do maps report the degree of accuracy? of the projection used? of the data used? Sometimes for data, almost never for projection. Many maps don't even report which projection is used. If we're talking degree of accuracy then there's also a degree of error, those errors are not representing truth. Maps are a representation (i.e. models) of reality. All models are incorrect somehow.

@@geospatialschool if a map doesn't report the project then the cartographer omitted something important.. sometime not necessarily wrong but it all depends with the type of map. A true fact is there is no accurate map since a map is representation.. my problem with you is on the statement,"all maps lie". That is totally wrong and misleading, I'm a cartographer by profession if you are wondering why I'm having a problem with your message

@@geospatialschool when designing a map, things you should never ommit, 1. Title 2. Author 3. Data sources 3. Projection 4. Scale n Scalebar 5. Key n/or Legend 6. Sometimes GridReference these the basics of Cartography
