A blessed day to you Pastor Paul. I'm from one of the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago. A friend sent me a link to your Bible Studies and you're doing an excellent job. It has been and continues to be a blessing to me. Thank you. I pray Gods blessings upon you as you help people to understand and live God's Word. Thank you and blessings to your family and the members of your congregation.

Pastor Paul, just wanted you to know how much this has blessed me with wisdom. In the last video you said you started ministering too young, but you are so skilled! God has truly blessed you. And I wish nothing but more to come for you! I just finished your videos on 1st samuel, working on 2nd right now but I just wanted to take a moment to thank you and witness how this teaching is helping me to grow in the Lord. Thank you.

There was another motive why Joab also might have killed Abner which was mentioned in the Bible notes I am studying from. Joab saw Abner as a rival for the commander-in-chief in David's army.

@ 30:26 - Didn't David punish Joab by pronouncing a curse on him and his family? (verse 29)

Having a sword was like you can kill anytime and you too get killed the same way...very scary!

Could it be that Joab and Abishai were not punished for the death of Abner because David says at the end of the chapter "These men, the sons of Zeruiah, are more severe than I". The Lord repay the evildoer according to his wickedness!" He was leaving vengeance to the Lord.

this guy Abner was a dush. He makes Saul's son king and then decides, hey let me now transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul and set up the throne of David. Then David asks for his wife back who got married to some other dude in ransome for a peiceful exit. Should David have trusted Abner with transfering the kingdom, did David see that as repentence? if he had not died, what do you think would have happened? would there have been peace in the land? if he did not die would the civil war have ended?

Yeah... David is a forgiving guy. It's like God used Joab to pay back Abner.

Good job it seems but I wish you'd use a KIng James which says not the belly , but the fifth rib at least twice in the narrative just spoke here
@Through-the-Bible5 жыл бұрын
Hello Ken. We shared your comment with Pastor Paul and here is his response: "The Hebrew word is ḥōmesh which literally means 'belly.' The more modern translations are actually more accurate in this case than the KJV."
