by just learning the first two chords it opens up a huge door because then you start to express yourself and it just like your practicing so many things at once. just want to let you know your doing more than you think for music and the world bro you are truly impacting people lives giving them the keys (no pun intended) lol to express themselves which can inturn impact others as well and so on keep EXPANDING AS A MUSICIAN AND INFINITE BEING ONELUV!

Question: I know you’ve gotten this before but if your in a certain key, what scale would you play?! Is there a formula?!
@Piano_Pig
@Piano_Pig 5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the situation, but as a very simple and general rule - go with the matching pentatonic. So if the key is Gm, so for the G minor pentatonic 😀

Simon do you have any videos that show how you do all of those melodic phrases for those who aren't as good at seeing the scales on the piano like you? My main problem is I can't really make up any phrases that sound good on my own. In this video you just casually play great sounding stuff all over the place and I can't even really follow what you are doing.

Confess that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart the God raised him from the dead, and you will be saved. Repent of your sins. ("Repent" is Latin. In terms of Christianity.. It means "To Turn Away." Turn away from your sins, refuse to go back to who you once were.) Be baptized. (Be completely submerged under water) And the Holy Spirit will gift you. This is important, remember this, JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU

"Tell a story" isn't really something useful unless you're already good at improv
@Piano_Pig
@Piano_Pig 4 жыл бұрын
Telling a story doesn't have to be complicated at all. It can be as simple as playing 2 notes, and responding with 2 notes. It's more about the idea of letting it breath and giving it space.

I really want to learn how to play everything by ear.. so far I have been trying more hit and miss and remembering the scales and 1-4-5 chords... What is next? Please tell me the next steps... I really would appreciate help so much! Tysm you're awesome! :D
@Piano_Pig
@Piano_Pig 5 жыл бұрын
The best way to learn by ear is to start learning things by ear! FInd a song or a solo you really like and transcribe it using your ears, it may be a lot of work in the beginning but it does wonders for your ears and you'll improve so much faster than just remembering scales.
