Something she said about tempo and emotion...is there some formula for what tempos work best for which emotions?

There really isn't a formula for this, it's all in the feel of a song. Generally, faster tempos can equate to excitement but can also be used effectively for fear. Slower tempos work for sadness, but can also work for beauty or love. It's important not to assume a tempo sets the emotional stage for the song except for the generalities.​ I hope that helps.

Hi Angelina, if you are asking me the trick is using monitors that help mixes translate to other systems well. Find a monitor that works really well for you and then be sure to also check your mixes on other speakers as well before committing, for example in the car etc. I hope that helps.
