2 Section Origami Box / Tray Tutorial - Stacking Boxes - Paper Kawaii

Learn how to make an origami box with two sections, this origami tray has a dividing handle in the middle, so it looks like a tool box. There are two versions to make, one is stackable, you can optionally add inner boxes.
This is the continuation of the origami boat basket ( • Origami Boat Basket Tu... ).
It's similar in looks to an origami tray I posted a couple years ago ( • Origami Square Tray Tu... & • Origami Long Tray Tuto... ).

I feel like this version is much easier, and more sturdy.
I've used a specific size, but you can use any size, square or rectangular paper. The specific size is just if you want to add the two boxes inside.
The second version (in the video at 11:59) of the box can be stacked or slotted together!

You Will Need

▸ 1 sheet of 1:2 paper (half of a square)
(you can use any size - the resulting box will be a different shape)
Paper size example: 29.7 x 14.85
Final model size: 5 x 5 x 10.5 cm
The 2 inner boxes:
Take the length of the short edge of your paper and divide it by 1.1.
For example in my case: 14.85 ➗ 1.1 = 13.5.
So if you're using my measurements, you'll need:
▸ 2 sheets of 13.5 x 13.5 cm

You can use square paper if you like, it just comes out a different shape! And I would never use 15 x 15 for a tutorial, it's too small :)
