Please have the forklift driver drive only with the car a foot or so off the ground!! That way if it accidentally falls, it won’t flip over and get damaged more. Only raise it enough to drive and clear what you need to clear. Ask me how I know…. Lol. Driving forklifts for 20yrs

Growing up in Ohio my uncle always had a 68 Shelby gt350 that he bought when he was 20 and restored. It was an original raven black on black fastback 4 speed car but during restoration in early 80's it was changed to candy apple red and stayed that color until he sold it in 2001 ish. I knew how rare it was later but as a kid i was so used to it being around it was no big deal.

i know that car from when i was a kid , i lived in Methuen Ma. that car was sitting along side the barn in Methuen for years , i could tell you a pretty good story about as to why that car was moved from methuen ...

@@ashmoresspeedandperformanc4782 when i was around 14 or 15 years old back in the early 80's 81 or 2 , my school bus would route was on the road where that car was parked, i had mentioned to a friend that it was a dream car of mine , the car was in mint shape ,other than the rear quarter being smashed ,i was told it was hit ,while parked in a parking lot of a supermarket... and was killing me to see it sit there full of pine needles and out in the weather (why not put it in the barn??)turns out my friend was a cousin of the owner and he said the reason it was outside and not in the barn is because his cousin owned two of them and the other one was in the barn ,and it was mint !!!, anyway , his cousin bought a property in N.H. and moved there , but still owned the property in Methuen Ma, and left the car there on his property , while he was living in New Hampshire somebody tried to steal the car using a flatbed truck , and the neighbor , who knew the owner well i a assume, called the police and saved the car from being stolen , so the owner moved it to his property in New Hampshire , i never seen it again until the show , after all these years , and telling stories about the car and how i wished i was old enough back then to ask to buy it , i always wondered what happened to it , come to find out it was just up the in Pelham New Hampshire rotting next to a tree , was great to see it , but also kinda sad to see it sooo rotted , knowing how nice it was back in the day , good luck with the car and i really hope it turns out mint !! i believe it to be a real low mileage car (by the way , the person i knew , his last name was Conrad, not sure if the owner had the same last name or not) ...take care ...

I used to buff this colour when we had to do minor repairs on new cars. It was hard to match and polish this paint! Dang. I loved driving these Shelbys at Sheehy Ford. Met Mr Shelby during the 60 and 70’s he was a gruff man! Nice but he was there to sell! That’s how he got where he did. He was not a bullshitter! Impressive! I was glad to meet him, but I had asked if he was going to paint his little Cobra car! He said something about Aluminum? Okey-dokey.

Dennis, although they made 79 black Shelby's in 68, they only made 24 convert's that were black with a white top. I think 13 stick and 11 automatic cars, (or vise versa). This info I got from Vinnie Liska who runs the 68 Shelby registry. In addition they made two of those cars with factory air. The stick is no where to be found and I have the automatic one.
