Speaking as someone who was a guest in 2 of the original 10 vs 2 races, you _really_ can't just throw 9 people who have never played the game (and Stanz) right into it and expect them to figure it all out. Stanz may know his 16 star route, but I have a strong feeling that even _he_ didn't even know where all 120 stars were, let alone how to direct the rest of his team through the ever so elusive "hazy maze cave" Still, this was grade A content and I certainly enjoyed watching it (even if it was clear that the youtubers were dead in their tracks within the first 5 minutes). I would love to see more of these videos pop up again, especially if the youtubers either got more time to practice or had a few more experienced players. Large-scale collabs like this will always be some of my favorite content on the internet.

I mean Stanz did get 8 above 16, if the rest had that level of competence (and did literally nothing while he was getting the first 16) they would have been just below 100 stars. So honestly I think his skilllevel was just fine for this, he just needed teammates and not training weights lmao.

hobo bros. iteration was better imo. the "casuals" in that at least knew how to beat the game, so it was just pure speed vs. numbers, not people who know what to do vs. people who don't.

Honestly I don't like it whenever videos are like this because everyone is just yelling on the 10 person team it's pretty annoying. All jokes aside, there is something really special watching people figure out Mario 64 for the first time. Since it is something most of us figured out when we were all still kids, we don't really grasp how difficult and unintuitive most of those stars must be for people going in completely blind, and with no game manual to give you some kind of north. It's like watching humans discovering fire for the first time.
