First off LOVE THE BUILD. They should have made this engine platform a option to begin with. Have you guys thought about maybe adding some pulleys to the frame and relocating the pull cord in the cabin so it is accessible from the driver's seat? I mean sure, Machining a mount for an eletric starter would be really cool. But I kinda like nostalgia of the pull cord and it fits into the weight savings over all. Keep up the great work. Long live the 2 strokes.

Wrap the pipes. Hold the heat for 2-stroke smoke. Heat on the pipes helps a lot from my snowmobile experience. Yes, they aren't running in cold, snowy weather, I get it but it would help in my opinion. Need to work on clutches too. Get that dialed and it will RIP!!!

Just a tip for painting pipes. Hang them with welding wire. Use a torch to heat them up good. If you spray paint and it looks like it’s bouncing off, let cool till the paint sticks, when it does, spray the entire pipe. You won’t get any runs, the paint cures out faster. The finish is nice and uniform. BUT, having them Ceramic coated and polished would be nice, and keep the heat in the pipe too.

@andrewpieniazek20973 жыл бұрын
The 2 stroke could use a airbox with maybe some little velocity stacks to help balance the intake pulses feedback coming out of it for optimal running those pod filters are great for on and off Drag Racing but Multi cylinder engines like that 1 benefit from the air Box, Would help with mid range and consistency of running, If the stock skidoo airbox doesn't work use it as a template for aluminum as a guide for about how far back the airbox wall should be from the velocity stacks

When I was young and a bit nuts Kawasaki came out with a 3 Cylinder 2 stroke motorcycle called the Mach3. 750cc of pure holy crap batman. I was 17 and bought a slightly used 1974 version. The guy told me to be careful. He had already put Yoshimura pipes on it and was running Benol in it. I rode it to my senior year of high school when the weather was nice...this engine reminded me so much of the sound of that thing...of course the neighbors HATED it...I would fire it up about 7am and would hold it at about 1800 to get it to warm up without fouling a plug, LOL. Fell in love with a car and sold it about 8 months later. At 62 I wouldn't want to ride it again, it had the power band of a chainsaw...but when it hit the pipes holy...would like to just have one to fire up now and again to annoy people. Thanks for the trip down memory lane Doug.

I used to road race one of those H2's. That 750 was fast (at the time) in a straight line but don't try to turn it at speed! That bike spit me off the track at Loudon, NH more times than I can count. Finally got smart and replaced it with a Norton 850. The Norton wasn't quite as fast in a straight line but it could corner very well.
