We're literally witnessing this now. The Bible is a lot more advanced and accurate about us humans than we think. Pray for our world 🙏🏾.

It's no coincidence either. Our nation is doing exactly what we shouldn't be doing.

Born and bred in Hong Kong, I can confirm that people still worship all kinds of idol statues with offerings all the time.

Little rough on Sunday school tellings of Bible stories, pastor Tim. Phil vischer and Mike nawrocki have done sooo much good wit n their stories. And I bless them. Why can't it be both? Like an onion. Theres layers there. It is all worthwhile goodness. ❤

Mr. Mackie thank you so much for all that you do. I am completely hooked on your sermons. Being a professional videographer and editor I thought I might be able to help your audio sync issue. It looks like you are recording audio at 44.1 sample rate. If you switch that to 48 it should solve your issue with sync. I hope I am not speaking out of turn here. Love your work. Again thanks so much for putting these sermons on here.

This is deep and personal. How many times we become “king” and make Jesus 2nd, our actions to be louder than love of Christ.

Augustine was one of those Christians who sought to shape it into his own image,,, including violence and becoming a servant of the state. the merger of church and state brought death to true christianity.

So encouraging. I've listened to this sermon until I have it about memorized. Not to lift up pastor Tim because I have about twenty sermons that I feel like that about. 😅 But I really appreciate it. And I'm glad Jesus left us the Holy Spirit. He's Who powers this. Seriously. Good stuff!

Right? Before this series, I was listening to his Jonah series and he does the same thing (which I think is unfair since the VeggieTales movie was the first kid's version of that story that actually covers the whole book and points out how Jonah "never really got it"). Ironically, the first place I ever heard Tim Mackie speak was on an episode of the Phil Vischer podcast.

I was listening to this video again and heard the word STORY used multiple times. My question is are these STORIES viewed as just narrative stories or does the Bible project and Tim Mackie view these as actual historic events?
@bigburton24

His view (expressed over many podcasts and videos) on these texts are that they are both. When you ask this question, he is most likely to say “Yes”. Tim lived in Jerusalem and breathed that history. However, God speaks His narrative through history and culture.

In Trump I do not trust! HOWEVER, I am processing but disagree with Mackie’s implied application for America and his political theology. I have been hearing this message for 6-7 years now: live peacefully and help “the World” flourish because We, the church, are in exile, AND, this is the spiritual posture for all believers , in all times, under all governments. I do not see idolatry in the political effort to stand for truth and against sin at the political level, aspiring for the church to reflect God’s justice and mercy in our government. Second, in this flourishing model, I do not see an emphasis on sharing and prophetically preaching the gospel. I do not see people coming to faith, being born again and being filled with the Spirit. Most Christians to advocate flourishing are in essence supporting a postmodern world view, and tells Christians to retreat from tue public square and be quiet. Finally, American IS/was different than Babylon. A good Biblical historian can see the hand of God in shaping and forming America for the greater good of the gospel , his ppl, the world. It is both the land of his people, his “temples”, through true church and also has become a “beast” of a government. By striving to make communities and a nation that is Christian, we are in essence wanting “Christian Nationalism” and that is not idolatry to desire to establish righteousness through faith.
