2 ton Chinese Excavator Fallen Tree Cleanup

Using my 2 ton Chinese excavator to do some fallen tree cleanup on my property.

I'm finding because it is small there's more use for it then a bigger one, and less on fuel than anything else I own, especially at todays fuel prices.

It sounds really underpowered or somthing, my 1.2 tonn ihi can lift logs twice that size all day and the engine doesn’t bog at all and it’s only got a 10hp twin yanmar diesel. The engine on yours bogs when u use the functions and track drive, maybe the hydraulic system is inferior I dunno 🤷

That machine makes work like that super easy. Great job there buddy. Which engine type did you go for ? I've noticed that they do Yanmar, Kubota and their own China copy which is the Laidong 385 3 cylinder engine.

I have the 18hp Kubota engine. For the amount of hours I'll do I'm sure any of them would have been fine. One thing I was told was a must was the boom swing feature, 40 hours on mine now and I've never used it once I just rotate the cab always.

@@doylemaintenance sure is a good engine in your machine there bud. You don't want the 1 cylinder tinny engines. Mines cheap and cheerful but you gotta be wearing your hearing protection on a long job. I'll be honest, I'm glad I got the swing boom, when I've dug footings next to houses, it has been a saviour been able to get a close dig. You may never use it but that one day you do, you'll be glad you got it 😄

@@doylemaintenance if its open areas you do then that's ideal, no need for that swing boom. Ita just another tool in the box when needed though.

@@doylemaintenance boom swing is good if you need to get up beside a structure to put in a trench drain or something. Other than that I agree you probably wont use it much.

No nothing broke yet. Around 20 hours so far. Haven't used it much last few weeks but I have a couple jobs coming up for it.

Curious. How high are the sides of your dump truck there that you are loading into?

@@darrenegginton9842 I don't get too much dust using it but my skid steer is open cab too and you eat dust all day in that thing.
