Seriously - if there was a Nobel-price for flight-simming, I’d nominate you for it!! I’m running 6 screens off a RTX4090, 3 of them 4K, so have a fairly hefty number of pixels to draw. Applying your suggested settings has changed what occasionally was stuttering-hell, into a butter-smooth experience. Absolutely brilliant effort - thanks so very much!

Just watched your video yesterday and applied the changes you identified. The result is a significantly smoother simulation in all phases of flight. I had resolved myself to living with the stutters until I upgraded my system later this year. Now, I'm quite happy with X-Plane 12 on my slightly underpowered 2 year old system which still gives me 30 fps on the default A300 and 45 fps on the Laminar SR22 and on all of the Aerobask planes in my hanger. Very helpful tips! I think XP12 now looks significantly better than on early access release. Some of the aircraft look a lot more convincing visually and in performance on XP12 compared to MSFS, most notably the Hot Start Challenger 650 on XP12.

Thank you so much, i tried lot of things during several days, because every 3 seconds, i had a frame drop in VR so even i had 45 fps, the result was very unconfortable. Your 3 tweaks in the NVIDIA control panel save my XP12 !!! Now i can enjoy flying. This dropped frame was only a problem in XP12 et not in XP11, for me...

It’s also a good idea to delete shader cache in the Output folder of X-Plane 12 after a X-Plane update or graphics driver update

No leave that one alone unless you have CTDs.

One thing to note. X-plane still has an issue with poor performance around sunrise and sunset hours. Validation should be done around noon to rule out that performance bug. That bug cause up to 25-30 lost in FPS.

There is no point having all those. You can only have one mesh at a time for each 1 degree world tile. Ortho will include it's own mesh. If the area of coverage for HD and UHD are the same you're just wasting HDD space.

Thanks for the tweaks, but no joy. My stutters, actually freezes of a few seconds, appear to be CPU rather than GPU related. And with a Ryzen 9 5950x that's weird. XP12 only uses 2 cores (why they require at least 4 in the hardware specs is a mystery to me), those 2 cores are maxed out. Tried every CPU configuration (no SMT, turn off the second chiplet,...) and tried disabling the virus scanner and every other background program. If anybody has any suggestions?

I'm surprised to see how bad AMD Vulkan is working compare to the Nvidia's one. I own both GPU (RTX 4080 and RX 7900XTX) and performances are halved with AMD (the GPU is not even fully loaded and CPU is idle most of the time)

Can you make a tweak tutorial video just like this one but for AMD RX6000 gpu please? I’m having a hard time finding support and tweak for amd gpu all of the tutorials I found are all Nvidia and I can’t buy a new gpu at this moment😢. I’m having a severe shuttering and bar code thing when I turn on MSAA and FXAA look very bad it’s hard to live with turning on anti aliasing to 16x does help a bit but those jagged line are still exists with FXAA I really need the MSAA working. hi, I did every step and my game did stop having issues, however the next day every issue showed up again, the framerate randomly drops from 50 to 10 for 3/5 seconds and then they go back to normal, making it impossible to land

Yes they work for MSFS but Threaded Optimization should be On for MSFS. The rest works wonders for MSFS too.

For XPlane you only need GLCache.

Hi. Do you have a Gsync monitor? I suspect you don’t, hence the recommendation for ultra on low latency mode. I absolutely agree with rest of settings but suspect low latency not wise if you also have G Sync.

Sorry, not true. There IS a difference between MSAA 0x and 8x for me, just tested again, but even the 8x looks terribly bad. And the 0x (no AA) is just even worse. But I don't see this problem in your video. What did you do? :)

Threaded Optimization is game bound not CPU bound. If the game is not made to make use of threaded optimization it is best to turn it off.

​@@aleksandrratkevich5901vsync causes stutter unless you can achieve a consistent framerate above the monitor refresh rate. Gsync and freesync adjust the monitor refresh rate down to match the rendered framerate and so looks smoother.

Helpful video thank you, but X-Plane 12 is optimized so poorly that stutters are the least of most of our concerns. I have to turn AA completely off to get FPS in the 20s at any airport in a 3rd party Felis or Colimata. There are no fixes for this and any complaints fall on deaf ears, it seems. The only reason XP12 remains valid is because of the free 3rd party products sent to KZbinrs. Most YTers like BlueGames, XP-72, Kosta, have stated it's simply too much grief to fly in it. Unfortunately after another week or so wasted trying to get the sim to function even half as close to DCS of MSFS, I'm done.

I play at 4K on nearly full ultra and I get 50 fps (capped at 50) at all default airports with the FF767; 35-40 fps with payware scenery like VerticalSim's stuff. I've got a 12700F and a 3080ti, both stock. Sounds your hardware is just low-end.

​@@Avazhi sounds about correct my friend....he has to optimise the Sim based around his hardware....I have loads of ortho for certain areas and complex acrft.....a 2080ti etc..etc....and after a few tweaks...I easily get 35-49....and more FPS.....msfs2020 is good.....but...xp12....with its LTE...still represents the proper "flying " characteristics...much more than msfs2020.....

I get 60fps in DCS and a constant 30 to 45 fps in MSFS, my system is not the latest but I should be able to get a smooth experience using a 10700K and 3070 w/t 32gram. This is not an isolated low-end hardware matter, it's a common issue effecting many original X-Plane users.

Or just add the command line to lock the fps to a value that your system can always achieve. In my case that is the refresh rate value. Super smooth. Example: "G:\X-Plane 12\X-Plane.exe" --lock_fr=60
