Lucky owner of a goldcapped 1957 2852 auto, arrowhead hour markers no date. Cream dial with speckles here and there. On very dark green croc strap. The charm is absolute, even at 35 mm.

168.0065, the later Japanese pie pans (and last of the pie pan models) with the calibre 1011 are also amazing. They tend to come with steel bracelets in a couple of variations such as the beads of rice centre links 1086 (I think) and my personal favourite the slightly squarer centre links of the 1503. These don't have a 500 series movement but still look great! There are good ones and some full sets that come up every now ant then from good Japanese dealers, worth keeping an eye out for. Don't look too hard though I'm still trying to find one for myself!

Thanks for the video. I am searching for a Constellation for my birth year watch. 1963. Very useful. Constellation Trivia? Omega Constellations sold in the USA during the 1950s were not able to be branded as “Constellation”, due to a trademark conflict with Pan American Airlines whose triple-tailed plane was also named Constellation. An alternative name of “Globemaster” was coined by Bruno Passoni, a member of Omega’s Italian sales team, which became the name Constellations were sold under in the USA until 1956 when the trademark conflict was resolved. The modern Globemaster collection recalls the name of early 1950s USA Constellations.

I have the exact same watch as the second one in the video, complete with crosshair dial, though the hands are solid gold (plate?) with no center lines or lume. My father bought it new in 1961, though Omega stated (when I sent to them for service in 1995) that it was made in 1956. Between 1995 and 2021 I’ve worn it sparingly, usually for special occasions or just when I want something a little more special than my Rolex Milgauss.

Alan Watts? Nice touch. Connie seems like an obvious nickname for the watch. Lockheed manufactured a famous aircraft from ‘43 through the late ‘50s called the Constellation, nicknamed Connie. The Globemaster name was used in the States address a copyright issue here. My assumption is Lockheed and their airplane were involved. Seems fitting they share the same nickname.

I resently found my Vintage Omega Constillation pie pan. It had gone missing for over 15 yrs in my garage. I purchased it while on vacation in Vietnam in the late 90's/early 00's. I think I paid less then $50usd. I am having trouble having it serviced, it runs but only for a few hr/days. The repair shop I last took it to told me the issues it that someone replaced a part with a non Omego part. The shop would not repair it due to access to replacement parts. I cant find someone to help me get it running again. Any recommendations? I'm in California.

The centenary was not actually Omega's first wristwatch chronometer, as Omega had been producing wristwatch chronometers in the form of 30t2 timepieces for some time. It was, however, Omega's first automatic chronometer.

Since I am not a fan of Omega or other fancy brands, for the purposes of this video I am an impartial viewer. And in that role, I prefer the second watch, the one with the brown strap; it is so vintage. I wouldn't mind having a watch like that. Of course, I wouldn't mind if it didn't have the Omega mark on the dial either. It's about the visual impression, not the brand or the price. Thank you for this instructive video. Regards from Chile!

Hi Max, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but in addition to the non-original crown of your silver Constellation, the example you showed also appears to have a re-finished non-original dial. Unsure if this was a known factor in your purchase, but will impact resale value in the future. Nonetheless a great video, thoroughly enjoyed, thanks
