2 Ways My Life Is Different In Minsk Belarus

I have lived in Belarus for almost 1 year now and many things are different.
Some are better and some are worse.
Here are two things that are quite serious that you should be aware of if you want to live in Minsk, Belarus.
Firstly, you are on your own when it comes to finances.
You better be ready because you can not just "get a job" here.
Second of all there are language issues...

I totally agree with you man. You hit the nail on the head with your first point. You really have to be prepared if you're going to be living there for an extended period of time. No doubt about it. I have been an Aussie Expat for almost 20 years. One advise I give to all new expats is, have the minimum of 3 month living expenses and return ticket, six months is better. S does HTF when your OS.

If you don’t want to translate things to Russian, come to Poland. Only 13% people know Russian here. Approx 80% of Polish population speaks English to some degree. I would say 50% is very comfortable with it while others speak different languages: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Czech, Slovak etc.
