@MariahMagazine Thanks for this. I actually took the trial version. One question when you resize the frame what are the measurements that show, pixels or mm. I transfer this into my laser software which shows the square whichever I use but the laser ignores it anyway.

If you use the free version of canva, you can download it with the white background and then find a quick background remover app via Google search and it should remove the white to make it transparent. An extra step, but it’s the easiest free option that I know of. Hopefully that helps!

I was trying to make a new circle profile pic for LinkedIn with a label of my choosing as they only have two labels available. So next is trying to figure out how to add a colored curved strip with text in it, added to the lower left curve of the round photo....

If you’re using Canva you can usually resize within the app, but not using Canva it’ll prob depend on your computer. I use a Mac so it’s easy for me to edit a photo on there and resize based on pixels or whatever you need. You might have to Google a specific fix depending on your computer.

There is also a way to do it in Google Docs by inserting drawing. Upload photo, select the arrow next to crop icon, and select the shape.

I already thought of option 2 and tried to do that exactly with remove.bg, and it didn't work because remove.bg took out the entire background of my picture, not just the white corners. But the Mac trick worked!! I didn't know Mac could do that. Super helpful!!

i’m using option 2. when i select the photo i want to add to the circle, the photo is still a rectangle. it doesn’t immediately fill into the circle like yours did. the photo was taken on my iphone, is this why? i’ve never been able to do this successfully with any tutorial and i don’t know what i’m doing wrong 😢

Hi! How the photo is taken shouldn’t affect this, unless it’s an odd image format. Sometimes it gets a little finicky and you have to drag it and drop it right over the circle (on desktop). If you’re using Canva on your phone, I’m not quite sure what the issue would be. I usually use desktop!

@@MariahMagazine i tried on tablet and desktop. using the desktop allowed it to fill in the circle but it’s just my head, not the entire image that fits. so maybe the image itself is too big? idk. i added borders to the image itself to make it square and then uploaded it and dragged it into the circle, but now you can see the borders in the circle. what’s crazy is the images im using were taken directly on instagram and saved from there, so you’d think what’s taken on there would work since their profile pictures are circle. but no. idk 🤷🏻‍♀️

It could be the ratio that’s the issue if it’s cutting things off that you don’t want. Sometimes it takes some messing around to get it to work. Hopefully you figure something out!

The free version will let you crop it, but the paid version will let you export it without a transparent background. If you stick with the free version, export it with the white background and then you should be able to find a free background remover tool in Google! I’ve had clients do that successfully. Hopefully that helps :)

If you don't have a mac and/or don't want to buy the pro version of Canva, you can use the free version of Canva to crop the image into a circle, export it (with the white background), and then upload that photo to this free tool (Here's a free workaround!
