I use hot glue and then use a permanent marker in the matching color to paint over the glue. I’ve also used acrylic paint. Fingernail polish would be good if you had the right colors 💅🏻 🌿

Hello Schmitt, thank you for sharing those helpful tips! 😄 I'm intrigued by the idea of using acrylic paint and nail varnish over hot glue - I'll have to give that a try myself sometime! I do have a slight concern about using permanent marker, though. I'm worried that it might rub off on fabric when the flowers are held against the body and potentially stain some pretty dresses. Have you had any experience with this issue that you could share? Thank you again for your insights!

I actually have green hot glue sticks in a pack of multi colored glue sticks that I’ve had for years. Now I know what to do with them! Thank you!

Hello Teresa, hot glue sticks come in a wide array of colours now, even in metallic and glitter! Look out for them when you go to a craft supplies store next time 😉

My garden has nearly new artificial hydrangeas which look beautiful and requires no watering 😅. I am extremely grateful for your glue ideas❤

I am happy to hear that you found my tips helpful. 😊 Real hydrangeas need to drink a lot of water, and having artificial ones in your garden can save you a lot of hassle!

Have you tried Heat Shrink Tubing? It comes in green as well, it might be simpler! Or plasti dip, but apparently the fumes are toxic so not sure about that. These are two methods that sewers use for finishing the ends of steel boning in corsets and structured bodices for gowns. The steel bones can be very sharp, and there's a lot pressure on the fabric when the wearer moves around so they have to work or it's a bit of a disaster. I haven't personally tried either though, so I'm only going off what other people have suggested.

Hi Katyb 😊 I have never thought about heat shrink tubing until you mentioned it! And I have never heard of plasti dip. I have made some corsets when I was at college but never had the chance to use metal boning, so I was never taught how to seal the ends of boning. What you have said is very interesting. Sounds like heat shrink tubing could be an easier solution since it doesn't give out toxic fumes. I will definitely keep that on my list of "To-Look-Intos". Thank you for the info, and thank you for taking the time to comment ❤️

@@embloome you're welcome! I've been learning how to make a corset so this is on my to look into list for that too 😁 The heat shrink tubing is actually really cheap, something like a metre or 2 is only $5 Australian here, and I imagine you wouldn't need much per stem. Good luck!
