I was wondering about upcycling sweaters, thanks for this video! I live in Canada and there are always so many sweaters in thrift stores. Does the "wool" or material have a (I'd don't know the word for fabric- like a grain, direction or a pile) direction like fabric and more importantly how do you figure it out? Some of the knit is so small.

Yes, it does have a grain. Normally it goes up and down because it keeps the sweater from deforming.

You could use different cord or rope, and you could also try it with thick elastic cording so you could do it on tighter fitting tops. I can’t help but imagine how good it would look if you used a decorative trim to do the swirls (imagine it with a feather or crystal trim!!!)

When you keep the rest of the sweaters you cut for future projects, how do you keep them from unraveling?

I fold them and put them in a bin. If you’re not moving it around a lot, tightly woven sweaters typically don’t fray a lot.

Would love to see a detailed video of how you dry clean your garments at home. Also, love these looks, they look great! I use Liquid Stitch permanent adhesive, when I need to glue fabric. You’re right, the smell for these adhesives are strong- let them air out for a couple of days to maybe a week… I find that it eventually goes away. Thanks for the video Angelina, happy holidays!

Fabri-Tac is another glue, and it works great for things you want to machine wash and dry. It's expensive but is worth it.

On the Chevron one, it's not hard to include the piping in the seam when you sew it. Or, if you're thinking to use the same color (like you did here, you could get a similar look by just turning the seam allowance away from the inset and topstitching through all the layers. Good if you don't have that leftover piping.

I’d hand sew it from the underside. So you’d pin your cording in place and turn it over to just get the underside of the cording in a basic ladder stitch.
