I’m an undergrad in my sophomore year. I’ve been weighing my options for career paths. I’ve been wanting to be a lawyer but I’m a bit nervous. I’ve been watching a lot of vlogs and videos but this one felt the most real for me. I’m excited to watch your journey! Good luck!!

It definitely took me a while to figure out what path I wanted to go down (and even now there's still not a crystal clear end goal), but trusting my instincts and figuring out what kind of lifestyle would make me happy has helped me so much. Hi Alina! 🤗OMG Same same same.... we start 8-14 orientation week and I am getting my books in too - wow what a stack . It's getting so real now - I keep saying the same thing - "I start law school in 2 weeks Holy crap." Working on getting super organized to keep from getting behind. I am going to be a 1L this fall too! it's been very busy this summer preparing for everything, I did not read the books you mentioned but I did read some other good ones and am on Getting to Maybe right now which is a little dense but also very great. My textbooks are also coming in and they are all break you back thick lol so that will be fun. I have been out of school for 2 and a half years but working that entire time in big law as a corporate paralegal so it's been stressful going from a career and a salary to being a broke student again! I did a summer prep course for law school with the University of Arizona and THAT HELPED ME SO MUCH to get my own routine down and learn what I need to be pulling from the cases and readings. Super excited to start law school, my school is private so we have had more mixers and social events over the summer to meet our classmates and had a large groupme that admin set up to help us get to know everyone and help us stay on top of things, now that we have 2 weeks till classes so much stuff is being posted for first day assignments and pre assignments for orientation and picking our community service projects for orientation week and just A LOT!! Enough of my rambling, wishing you all the best in your first semester!!!!

I love the rambles, it's such an exciting time! I hear you going from working back to being a broke student lol, quite the adjustment. I just can't wait to get started, I feel like I've just been waiting and prepping and I'm just ready to get going. Good luck to you your first semester too!!!

What is your plan for housing and expenses? Do you have a job or are you relying on loans?

I'll be living off campus and at least my first year I'll be fully relying on loans! With such a heavy workload in 1L I wanted to be able to completely dedicate my time to that without worrying about a job, and I'm very lucky to be able to do that.
