I poured out of 5 gallon buckets the same way as you did for many many years and then someone smarter than me said hey put the spout at the top and it flows without gurgling. Try it next time you'll see what I mean.

When there is creases in the nose like that, the hose is too short and you have the chance of the hose failing due to poor workmanship. Don’t skimp on a 6” hose to think your going to save on money.
