The 911 kinda blurs the line separating a GT car from a Sports/Supercar. It’s highly capable of being both that it’s insane. Mercedes is unable to replicate

Great review. I love everything about AMG GT but the interior. That's like future interior from the past. Looks very old to my old eyes. It doesn't need to have Tesla like interior, but look at how Porsche does the interior.

Nice video clearly presenting the facts with no daft intrusive music & no wam bam video editing. I just bought a low mileage R231 SL500. Same torque as this car. Can't yet afford an amg gt or the new SL. But I do like my metal folding roof. I'd miss no top down motoring. Most of the time on dry roads the RWD copes

I like just about evertything about it. What would hold me back is the iPad which is a wart on the supermodel. I don't like the dragonfly look of the steering wheel because there is no purpose in splitting the panel in two like that on the steering wheel.

What’s the difference between GT55 and GT63, except the power?

Basically nothing. Same with SL 55 vs SL 63. Just tuning of the same v8 engine for 63. 55 makes way more sense for daily use and you get v8 sub 4 seconds

If you option the performance trim of the 55 those mechanical items are equivalent. 63 has that as standard

If you add the performance package to the 55 you have everything except the horsepower. I have a new SL 55 equipped that way and love it.

Yes, wait until warranty expires then a simple ECU tune bumps you to over 600HP/ 620 torque and the 55 will do sub-3 0-60.

First AMG GT was a 1600kg true sports car and the rival of 911. The new one is just a 2000kg Mercedes SL with a hardtop, an autobahn cruiser and not a sports car. Shame on AMG

No doubt Mercedes makes really nice cars, but Porsche 911 is in its own class. I love this GT car's redesign. Should wait a couple years till they work out any issues..This will be the last bi-turbo before the politicians force all manufacturers towards electric cars.

they have a gt 63 e performance that has 800+ hp and 0-60 in 2.7 realistically prolly like 2.6/2.5 which is pagani/ferrari/svj numbers

The Aston Martin Vantage is actually a lot lighter, more a serious sport car, the DB12 would be more close to this car, because it has become more a GT than a serious sport car…

I get the TTV8 hype, but it's sound is a bit inferior after all those emissions restrictions. So they both sound like lawnmowers, one is faster, and more prestigious, the other has a V8. that's basically the difference between them

I REALLY hate the oh crap we forgot to make room for the infotainment screen.. It's too late now so just slap it on the dash look. While I can appreciate how the bottom at least flows into the console it still looks terrible. It almost looks like it blocks part of the AC vents. LOVE the rest of the car!!! I wish the 911 Turbo / S sounded as good as the GT.. That v8 GT sound.. GLORIOUS!!!

I have the SL and had concerns about how I’d feel about the screen, but after having the car for a while I really like it. All the functions of the screen can be accessed by the steering wheel controls or the MB assistant.

great video! the new gt is beautiful, but for the same price i’d rather have a previous generation GTR PRO etc. but i have seen and heard of an ‘S’ variant being tested in the nurburgring rumored to have around 640HP!, can’t wait to see that

I think these will struggle to sell when new, in the used market however, they will be prolific due to market prices. I love my AMG and I bought a demo from my local dealer, less than a year old and $20K was cut from the price for 7K miles. A GT63 will be less than $90 in a few years even before a new body style, well worth the price. At almost $200K it's just not worth it, where a Turbo S is $260K for the fastest car on the block. Drive that car for 3 years, then sell it for $260K. Math is this cars greatest enemy, unfortunately. I want AMG to do well, but when they stick 4 cylinders in everything but the GT line, I can't help but think that I'm just rewarding their ESG score by purchasing. I won't do it. I won't buy a a new product from companies that choose an agenda over humanity.

I agree completely. I tried to like the LC because it's a looker, but in every category the GT excels for performance, looks and practicality. For my money and driving needs, the 55 hits the sweet spot for price and specs.

What's the biggest differences between the 55 and 63? I've heard many different things from it only being hp differences to the 63 having the amg active ride and 55 not having it along with a few others. I'm trying to gauge whether or not the 63 is worth the extra cash vs just getting the 55. Assuming I can spec it like the SL I can just tac on the front lift and a few other things I want and save a ton of money vs just getting the 63.

If you add the performance package to the 55 you have the same car except for the tune of the motor. And I’m pretty sure they sandbag the HP on the 55 by 25-30 or so. I’m doing 3.5-3.6 0-60’s versus the factory quoted 3.8/3.9. IMHO the sport seats are more comfortable than the luxury seats in the on reviewed here.

Whoa….I was genuinely thinking about trading in both my GLC63 & my 911 turbo for one of these, but I’m shocked I’m only giving up 175lbs for all the extra space and practicality on the GLC. Kinda makes it not worth it, may as well keep my current 4 car solution.

Nice car but no longer special.. what makes a 911 special is it gets its own bespoke engine amongst the models. Amg engines are thrown at every model on their line up from sedans to SUVs . Also 4300lbs is unforgivable.
