Good info. My 23 Badlands of 14 months and 12000 miles has been relatively problem free except for last month while we were at a lodge in a wooded area, the morning we left I got a warning that there was a fault with the 4x4 system. The dealer diagnosed a faulty front stabilizer bar (sway bar) module which was covered under warranty, but also found wiring that had been chewed on by rodents, not covered by warranty.

Good LORD that vehicle is freaking COMPLICATED! 😮 It'll be interesting to see how well (or not) all that complexity holds up after 10 years.

Thanks for the video, I am strongly considering a Bronco next year, glad to hear most people who have them are only finding minor issues. My biggest concern is the road/wind noise at highway speeds, some people complain a lot about it while others think it's reasonable. I am hoping to test drive one for myself and see.
@JustinKingOffroadАй бұрын
65 and below it's minimal. 65-75 you certainly notice it, and 75-85 it's ripping for sure, but you will hear the tires long before the wind. Even my jeeps had bad wind noise, you're taking something with the aerodynamics of a brick and driving it 80 mph lol! It's gonna be loud.

Thank you for your honest review. It sure does help to have a good Ford dealership to work with. Now you really tempted me to go look at the bronco again. I wanna sit in those comfortable seats. My 4 Runner seats just don’t deliver in the long-haul comfort level
@JustinKingOffroadАй бұрын
Yeah my only complaint is that you get sticky on a long road trip. Those vinyl seats don't breath at all.
@mikesveganlife4359Ай бұрын
For me it was headlights coming on by themselves, and some driveline noise when cold. So far it's the headlight switch, and they just got the parts for the TSB on the transmission (manual).

The window thing is most likely something got in there and tripped to “don’t cut off fingers” protection. Had the same sort of thing happen to my van recently and the window reset/retrain also fixed it.

Interested to hear an update about the transmission downshifting. Mine does it too but sort of assumed its normal.
@JustinKingOffroadАй бұрын
well unfortunately they didn't get to that in the time allotted. I was driving back by and had to load it up. Given on forums others are reporting it, it's certainly a programming error on ford's part. That they STILL haven't fixed.
@curtl1694Ай бұрын
I haven’t had any problems with my 4 low shifting from 3rd to 2nd since doing the Ford Performance tune in my 22. My mpg also increased, better shifting, and of course more power. Maybe give that a try.

Thanks for sharing. I'm curious to know. What brand of tires did you purchase? Could you tell me more about what you did to take on the 37s?
@JustinKingOffroadАй бұрын
I actually went with Toyo Open Country AT3 tires. The price point was dang near half of all the other brands for all terrains at that time. Basically removed the crash bars, high clearance front bump stops, BSD 3 inch lift, and I did have to trim my rock rails about 1 inch, i forgot that in the video. I bought those tires on Custom Offsets, and I matched them up to a very lightweight set of Icon Alloy Vector wheels.

Remember the Audi (I think that is right) where the car would surge forward and a few went through the garage walls. To me that would be a primary fix it now issue!! Great review I was curious how your rig was holding up. Know you are busy but miss the rescue videos!!

so I'm late to this party. but I do have one question. Having had both, which is better Bronco or Jeep?
@JustinKingOffroad2 күн бұрын
Oh man that's a really loaded question! If you are a die-hard solid axle fan the Jeep is the only way to go, do you want to go 85 miles an hour up the highway in total comfort and not wander all over the place and be a lot more comfortable off-roading then the ifs Bronco is the way to go!

My F-150 has the alt is very low as well. Quite surprised they did that on the bronco. Does the bronco have a fording height rating? I think the bottom of the alt is ~20inches off the ground.
@JustinKingOffroadАй бұрын
33 1/2 inches. Hence the problem lol!
@Chris-ut6eqАй бұрын
@@JustinKingOffroad Very curious what they tell you. I swear the F-150 has a fording height similar to a Prius. I think they say never go above axle height on a 4x4 F-150, FX4. It's pathetic/sad..... I have no plans on deep fording, but sh*t can happen when caught in rain/flooding.

My F-150 on 35s and 2.5 lift is good for 4 feet of water I've done it many times. It's a 99 tho. Lol
@Chris-ut6eqАй бұрын
@@123-o8u1j I'm going by the well lawyered manufacturer claim for a '22 F-150. Given the low mounting of the alt, I'm sure there would give many ECU codes thrown if I was anywhere close to 4ft. In 99, you have a mechanical beast and not a delicate iFord with 20+ computers. Ford rangers,at least in AUS are made for fording much deeper water. Saw some promotional videos of them testing one in at least a couple feet or more.
