This is the best laptop I ever had. I always work with dual monitors, so zenbook duo is a big help when I don't have access to an external monitor. I don't know if I will feel comfortable switching to a different type of laptop after using it.
@SkyPerspective Жыл бұрын
This is the problem isn't it? Once we get used to a dual screen laptop, it's like how can we even possibly work on one that only has one screen. I had the same feeling when I gave up my galaxy foldable phone Z fold 4. My new phone screen is not as big, but I am getting used to it.

Thanks for a really great review, so unique, thorough, and real, unlike so many KZbin videos. You seem to be very detail oriented. I don't know whether you're still responding to questions, but can you please tell me whether the touchpad on your Zenbook responds to 4-finger gestures? I've heard that some touchpads don't respond to 4-finger gestures even if they respond to 3-finger gestures, and I'm trying to confirm from a real user. Such information is very difficult to find from manufacturers, because they don't even seem to know and give wrong information. Thank you, and I hope you will continue to do computer reviews.
@SkyPerspective5 күн бұрын
Yes, 4 fingers gesture works. I have done a demo of the 4 fingers gesture in this earlier video of mine. It's some where at the 6 minute mark of the video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fofTq5dve7Jrqcksi=uH7rSrNaytR0i9PH Really happy to know my video is helpful to so many of you. Thanks for your sincere comment letting me know how useful my videos are. This keeps my going making more reviews of the tech I use. I try to keep my channel authentic, which comes at a cost of slow channel growth. I have too many tech and EV videos to make. What sort of computer videos would you like to watch?
@komtar745713 сағат бұрын
@@SkyPerspective Thank you for replying to my question. I understand about the slow channel growth by your being authentic, but many of us really appreciate listening to someone who is real. Your content is clear, concise, and meaningful, and I like that you're providing useful information more than you are selling yourself. I hope you can be proud of that. You are right that your long-term review of your Zenbook is probably the only such video on KZbin by a real user, so it's invaluable. Most of the other videos are like commercials, and nobody knows what to believe with those. I don't like videos with constant background "music," which isn't music, just noise. So, if the KZbin algorithm doesn't promote your videos, that's something to be proud of, because it means that your videos don't sell crap (please excuse my language). I think there's a niche for people who give long-term real-world reviews of products, because I always try to find that kind of video, but there are very few. For example, I would love for someone to test whether products do what the manufacturers claim they will do after at least a few years and, even better, after 5, 7, 10 years and not just repeat what the manufacturer's advertise. For example, I am very skeptical about OLED laptop screens, because I've HEARD that OLED screens are subject to burn-in and pixel death and that the quality of the display degrades with time. But almost nobody has done a follow-up review about this for laptops. Manufacturers advertise the OLED screen, because it's very impressive at first glance, and many people don't keep a laptop for more than a few years (it's a disposable society). Therefore, the true quality of products is rarely tested over a long time. I like quality, sincerity, detail, and longevity. I would like to see how you clean the dust from the fans and vents inside your Zenbook. Did you already do a video about that? Thanks again for your excellent videos!

TY!!!!! I think i followed your recommendation in 2022 and, also by chance (an online auction settled it..) I got stuck with this Asus Zenbook UX482. In German, I would give it a 3, which is a B in the English-speaking world, thus neither unsatisfied nor excited. The Pros: It took a couple of months though to discover and properly use the "spread screen", having the screen reaching down to the Screenpad Plus. Both screen have a good resolution and give a good color/contrast experience. The Cons: As the upper screen has the "old" 16:9 screen-ratio (though there is room for that in the lid), there is a thick black right in your website/document, hmmm... The keyboard is hard to get used too, hmm... Getting to the issue here: The right hinge or something close to it sometimes makes "Crack" though I greased it cautiously. Hmmmm... I am getting rid of this one in the next 3 months for the fabulous Lennie Yoga 7 1-2.

Amazing! Thanks, man.....but I do have a question to ask, from where did you buy your Asus and would you prefer this 14-inch or 15-inch pro duo
@SkyPerspective4 ай бұрын
I bought it from a Australia electronic store called JB HiFi. The stock is from Asus Australia. Now between 14 and 15 inch, it's really a personal preference. 15 inch is a lot heavier and bulkier to carry around, but you get more screen real estate and with this Zenbook Duo, the 15 inch has a number keypad on the touchpad. So pros and cons. I went with the 14 because I like it to be compact and lightweight.

@SkyPerspective Thanks bud, appreciate it...which would last longer ( better battery life )

@SkyPerspective true but specs don't always tell you the truth, it's better to rely on personal reviews like yours 🌹👌. One incident ( a KZbin video ) was about someone who owned a completely brand-new 15-inch pro duo. It was amazing until a year passed by and it went or shall I say plummeted to the ground. I was hoping for a duo laptop to have "Intel EVO certified". Although I don't know what it means but I heard it's the best for battery life ( would be nice if you could emphasize more on that )

After watching your review after 7 months and 2 years I bought a second hand UX482 with i7 and 32GBs of ram! Its a great laptop apart from two problems I found and would like to ask if you have the same problems! The first is overheating, I did not open the back of the laptop so I am not sure if the thermal paste is dried or just the fans has dust on it, but the temperature was always so high! Just watching KZbin can rise to nearly 70 degree under the strongest fan mode! And the temperature rise to over 90 degree which cause thermal throttling and downclocking the CPU frequency to just 0.4G! It is completely non usable in gaming. The second problem is when the laptop is plugged in battery, using stylus to write on the secondary screen is intermittent no and smooth handwritten. Did you face the same problem or has any solution? But besides this two problem it's really a great laptop! I enjoyed the dual display a lot and it certainly increased my working efficiency! Thanks for your review after 2 years it's really useful!!!

If you had to buy this laptop ( as a i7-1165G7 - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD) today for £630. Would you? Considering the price difference to the OLED version I'm curious if you would consider the older tech.
@SkyPerspective Жыл бұрын
It all depends on your use case of the laptop. If you don't need to beautiful OLED screen and you don't need the fast processing power for gaming or video editing, then yes 630 pounds is very worth it for this laptop. If you do video editing like me, then it's better to go for the powerful new version. No point saving the money and make your editing workflow slow and frustrating everytime. That's my thoughts. Aesthetic wise, they are quite different. Asus Zenbook duo has second screen which is great for multi tasking but makes keyboard and track pad a bit cramp. Sorry for making it harder. I just found an Asus zenbook duo ux482ear i5 , ram16gb and 512gb for the price of £440. Is thia a good price for this laptop? The main use would be just to connect my Tascam model 12 and download a daw for music production but i will not be using or more than 12 tracks, would this laptop be up to do this task without me having issues or would be better look for another option? The fact this laptop have the second screen really is atractive when comes work flow .
@SkyPerspective8 ай бұрын
That's a good price if you are putting the second screen to good use. We seldom get laptops with two screens for productivity. I haven't done much about music production . Based on simple logic, this laptop can handle video editing software with multiple video tracks, so 12 audio tracks should be a piece of cake for this zenbook duo. However, there are lots of variables like your audio quality bit rate and the software, etc. What I suggest is you can compare it to the current computer that you are editing this audio, compare the CPU and ram, and you should get some idea if it's capable.

Would you recommend this laptop for gaming?
@SkyPerspective Жыл бұрын
Depends on which and what type of games. It has a powerful graphics MX450, but that's getting old. This laptop is designed for content creators in mind, the 14 inch screen might be too small for gaming. Perhaps go for the 15 inch Zenbook Duo. If you only use the laptop primarily for gaming, I would suggest get a gaming laptop. Consider this zenbook duo only if you do work and play games on it 50:50 percent of the time. I am not really a gamer, so take my advice with a grain of salt. Hope this helps.

I've not done that before, but I don't see why not. The touch screen and pen should work. Battery life is really subject to individual usage and what software we run. My typical day of using the laptop battery outside. About an hour video editing, couple of hours surfing net checking emails, typing documents for about an hour, video conference for about an hour, after that typical day the battery usually is left with about 30% to 40%.
