Interesting video….Such a shame that each year doctors make less and patients pay more only the insurance companies are winning.

Private practice is like owning a business or sharing the ownership of a business. There are risks like income not covering expenses, but also should be potential for bigger pay if you can increase business profitability. If doctors don't want that setup, they could be hospital employees instead

I'm looking into going into medicine. So, if doctors work as hospital employees, their compensation would be more competitive? I know it varies by specialty. My question is, would they not have to worry about these issues, like reimbursement, if they were employed by a hospital? Thanks!

I am really sadden by the news that you all work so hard and put so many hours in to only end up with such low amounts. This distresses me now that i found this information out. God bless you all for your tenacity. I can't imagine going to school for all those years only to be in the red. That infuriates me. I am going to start praying about this situation because it shouldn't be. These insurance companies are robbing people left and right. It's not right! It's not right! God bless you Dr. Webb and your practice in the Name of Jesus! I pray those things and more! Thanks for sharing! You seem like a really good person as well as a physician.

Such a shame for how long you have trained and how dedicated you are to be burdened by these financial problems! The Congress has to know and has urgently do something about it. These days the inflation is sky high and so much so the other expenses, which makes it outrageous for the insurance companies to act in this manner. I hope it gets better soon!Best wishes to you and your wonderful family! Respect!

Sounds like…You went in wanting to practice medicine and treat patients, and find yourself turning into a business manager. Similar thing happened to me, as an engineer. I think zillions of professionals are in this situation - the reality of modern America. And I apologize - I can see the problem, but have no idea what to do about it!

I don't want a surgeon that is not well rest3d because of patient load and/or other hustles. Health Insurance companies and doctors need to meet in the middle somewhere. Health Insurance companies should all be non-profits!!!!!

American physicians/surgeons make far more money than doctors of any European country. He complains but if he lived in Europe he probably wouldn't even have chosen the medical profession knowing how low the physician's salaries in Europe are when compared to the salaries in the United States.

@@liv0003 true. My comment was more of an invitiation for an additional income stream...😀
@emphasis20
@emphasis20 Жыл бұрын
I figured that would more so offset in Europe because of general lower living and housing costs. Salaries in the U.S. tend to look really lucrative on paper, but it's not unusual to have expenses take a large chunk out of your income. Of course a lot has to do with location, but the U.S. in particular is dealing with nasty inflation and greed which is only getting worse by the year.

There are. Not all doctors in private practice need an expensive office where they can see patients in clinic. My dad is an anesthesiologist, and they contract with the hospital system. All of their patients are seen in the hospital. All of their billing is conducted through a billing service, and the rest is handled through a small office.

Please have your editor remove or lower the volume of your background music, and preferably omit the sound effects (not on this video but especially on the list videos it can be jarring). Love and appreciate your content. I think it’s a valuable contribution as a person with physicians in their life. You have a pleasant voice and are an excellent communicator and orator in this forum. Please have your editor let you stand out more and subdue the distractions. Thanks again.

Congratulations! Unfortunately for us ALL, we live under a predatory capitalist racket. No one or nothing can escape this fact. Name of the game, stick it to the next man. If you have power and/or influence it just becomes easier to do the sticking. Good Luck with everything!

Medical school is full of two type of people. The first is people who love treating patients and would do it for free. The second is people who are smart, money driven, but lack imagination/confidence on how to make money. If your reasoning is the latter, then the answer to your question is no.

@William Collis nothing to do with money? You'd be okay helping people as a doctor and making 50k a year? As long as your patients were happy, would you be content with your salary?
@jorgesolis7897
@jorgesolis7897 Жыл бұрын
@William Collis yes! Exactly! I agree with you! You should be paid accordingly. And in your mind that figure is around 250k, more or less depending on the specialty. My point is that even when never want to go into medicine JUST for the money... money is one of the main factors when choosing medicine as a profession. Why? Because training to become a doctor is not cheap, easy, or simple!
