LittleMissTee Hey I want you to know that I’m praying for you and your surgery. I had spinal fusion 1 year ago. I’m not going to lie. It’s a tough recovery. The surgery itself was painless for me. It took 4 months to recover though. Those 4 months I went through physical therapy to help with my range of motion. If you have any questions about the surgery let me know. There are some things to know: don’t bend or twist after your surgery unless the doctor tells you too. (Twisting could possibly ruin the surgery) Also if you need to roll over while you’re in the hospital bed, ask for assistance. If you try to do it by yourself it could be dangerous.

@callumwarren1155 жыл бұрын
I had major surgery done at 8 years of age not only did I have one of the rarest forms of scoliosis like you I was born with it, but it was the female version which started at the bra line down, i got a full dealing as I was also born with no left pelvis so I had a 9 hour operation at Frenchay Bristol children's ward and its been almost 13 years this May just past im still walking. after discovering you before you had your op it brought me a sense of joy knowing that there was someone like me who said no to the doctors when they said you'll never do anything afterwards. I played football, cricket even wheelchair basketball etc etc. Get yourself out there i tried to but it was alot harder back when I was young, eventually it has caught up with me, they wanted to fuse my neck and ive said no because it would take away what little is left of my independence. From someone who has lived with this condition all his life for 22 years know that there are tough days to come but enjoy every day because our scoliosis is a gift it let's us be different and shake up the status quo a bit. Keep on dancing your are an inspiration to young generations especially others with disabilities, you reignited my passion for inspiring others. Maybe one day our paths will cross and ill have the honour of meeting you just know that when the hard days come your never alone. Never stop fighting and always keep smiling as your smile will lighten everybody's day. #Disabled&Proud #TeamScoliosis

I also have scoliosis. It isn’t as bad as yours was and I don’t have to get surgery or wear a brace. I’m taking physical therapy now to hopefully reduce my curve. I’ve heard stories about people with 60 degree curves reducing their curve to around a 30 degree curve. My curve is around 20-30 degrees and i want nothing more than to reduce it to almost nothing. It makes me happy to see that you are doing ok after having surgery. I don’t know anyone with scoliosis and I admire how strong you were through all this. I hope you are doing fine😇😇🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️

Hi! I just found your channel today. I also had spinal fusion surgery for scoliosis on August 14th of last year. My curve was a little over 50 degrees. The pain was awful and I’m so thankful for my doctors and that I was able to have this surgery. I am doing much better now and I don’t have as much pain. Fun fact (lol): One of my ribs actually sticks out more than the other, because my curve sort of twisted things inside. I hope you’re doing much better now 😁 I have subscribed to you and I’ll be watching your videos.

Hey girl. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone and that this video was very inspiring but also a great reminder of all of the struggles I went through. This surgery was one of the hardest things we will have ever faced in this life. I'm sorry that you had to go through this. I had my surgery done at age 13. I turned 14 a month later and started freshman year a month after that. So I know how it felt. Thank you for making this video and thank you for being so strong and so real

Alex Baines I got very anxious before my surgery in April. The morning of the operation they will ask if you’d like premeds which calm your muscles and brain down.By the time your going into the operating room you’ll be absolutely fine. Your mom or dad can go with you all the way until your put to sleep. Hope this helps xx💕💕Good luck xx

Alex Baines hi! Im currently going through the same, my doctors are debating weather I should get surgery or not.. and yes it gives me a lot of anxiety! What I do to manage my anxiety a bit is just thinking about how im going te be after the surgery, like im not going to have pain, im not going to be self conscious about my body and I won’t need to wear a brace anymore!! Just try to focus more on the positives than the negatives, stay strong 💪❤️

I luv watching ur videos. I had scoliosis surgery last year on June 15, 2018 and it was a full spinal fusion. My mom told me that when I came out of surgery, I was crying saying that I wanted to die, and the supposedly my doctor was pale bc I woke up right away after they finished the surgery. It was such a hard thing to get over with, I really hated to sneeze bc my back didn’t feel good and didn’t even eat for a week bc I felt so nauseous, but now I’ve gained some weight. Anyways I can say that I am 1 year and 1 month post op, and feel better everyday. Congrats Julia on being 2 years post op
