Really enjoy your videos. I have a 2021 130LR. I find your comments spot on. Like you, I believe the thing corners on rails. You just need to put all your weight through the BB, arms relaxed, and it sticks. If you get tired and lazy, then it will push….so don’t. Took me quite a bit to get the suspension dialed. Makes a big difference. Your comment about not lively off the jumps….Wounding if you backed the rebound clicker off a couple clicks? Might help. Keep these vids coming. I’ve learned a ton off your tire vids.

Bruce thanks dude!! I really appreciate the feedback!! If I get a chance to get back on one I'll definitely play with the rebound and compression settings. I did have it setup to yetis recommendations

The Fox GRip 2 dampner is the key to the traction up front, I went from a Factory 36 with the Fit 4 , upgraded then, to the Fox Factory 36 with the Grip 2, and its amazing the difference all the way around. Much better when you get it set right. The increase in confidence is amazing. The pop is purely a suspension setup.

Glad to hear the suspension was set up using Yeti's setup guide, the recommendations are quite different than what Fox recommends but sooo much better, more sag and faster rebound, I too found them to be spot on for my weight. I started with the regular 130 and modified it to a LR. No downsides, the LR is a better bike period. Great review. I also wanted to add that I live and ride on Vancouver Island, British Columbia and the trails here are extremely rocky, rooty and gnarly. This bike is a perfect fit for these trails.

Thanks for the upload, could you comment on your previous saddle (ergon) and your current one (fizik, model ?) comfort/ weight
@dustinbjohnson3 жыл бұрын
I had the new ergon enduro for a while it was good. The fizik is the Antares r3 just under 200 grams. But not worth it. Has no relief channel. I have since gone back to the ergon sm pro s/m . It's around 250 grams but much more comfortable. Ergon and specialized are my favorite saddles. The phenom saddle is great. I have noticed that my previous WTB and fizik saddles are prone to creaking.

I know this is a video hijack, and off this topic, but could you possibly test the 29 Minion SS 2.3 EXO Silkworm Rear , and the Dissector EXO+ 2.6 3C max Terra in the front- the casings should be similar in stiffness with the EXO+ and the EXO/Silkworm. Cant find much at all for the Minion SS reviews !
@dustinbjohnson3 жыл бұрын
Hell yah dude you know I always love tire talk! I have rode those tires before but In an EXO, and not together. But I personally am not a fan of 2.6 tires. I don't like the way it makes my bike feel kind of dead and lazy on mellow terrain. And semi slick tires on the rear are not great hear due to how dry and loose it gets. They can really struggle with climbing traction if conditions aren't right. I feel like the aggressor is so much better. Rolls almost as fast. Far superior climbing traction and great cornering. I love the dissector 2.4 but I still prefer the 2.4 dhr2
@863093 жыл бұрын
@@dustinbjohnson thanks Dustin, so you , for your area and style like the aggressor rear and prefer to DHR II up front over the Dissector? I haven’t ridden the aggressor yet . You feel the aggressor rolls better than the Dissector ? And how’s the aggressor braking and climbing?
@dustinbjohnson3 жыл бұрын
@@86309 yah dude. Assegai or dhr2 up front. And aggressor 2.3 rear. Aggressor might be a touch slower then dissector. But aggressor has better climbing traction. Braking is similar. Aggressor is more predictable. Dissector Def has a drift zone similar to the DHF

How would you compare the climbing ability to the sb150? Some say it's negligible between the two.
@dustinbjohnson3 жыл бұрын
I did not like climbing the 150 personally. It pedals good for sure. But it's such a long bike it felt like a chore climbing, compared to the 130 I felt climbed with such ease and much easier to move around on tight or techy climbs. I much prefer the 130 all the way around

@@donatelloDoesmachines13 oh right on. Definitely hit me up when you get back! Also couple things I'd look into for your Yeti ARC build.. -Fox 34 Stepcast Fox , I'd stay away from the rockshox SID until they fix some issues that are surfacing. -I'm really into the new shimano 12 speed drive train over the sram eagle stuff I had when we rode together. The cassette has much better spacing for even jumps between gears. And the shifting is buttery smooth! -you could also go with the sram axs wireless shifting. But I've found it a bit unreliable and kind of a pain in the ass with forgetting to charge your batteries.. or forgetting them completely! Haha If you have any other specific questions hit me up. -Maxxis Ardent Race 2.35" MaxxSpeed tires would also be fitting for that bike.

I’m 170. Tried a 160 up front and went back to 150. The bike feels more balanced to me this way. The 160 requires a lot more input. It was fun pointed down in a straight line. I ended up washing out a couple times on trails and sections I normally have no issue with. 160 will punish you quickly if you get too relaxed. I also didn’t ride it long enough to get used to the tighter switch backs. 160 makes an already long bike even longer. I still have the 137.5M rear dpx2. No real noticeable gain there. I get my push 11.6 next week!

I sold my sb130 for a Ripmo. I loved the speed of the yeti and going down hill it was great but in TX you are not going down hill enough and on flat pedaling I lost traction on the front ….all the time. If you’re not going downhill in the mountains you have to exaggerate your body language over the front of those yetis to keep traction. It absolutely sucks. Ibis, evil, transition… Etc. you can ride your normal style and don’t have to adjust your body English to fit the bike like those yetis. I know people are going to disagree with me but I buy 4 to 5 bikes a year so I have time on a lot of bikes. Evil is a better allrounder bike.

@@dustinbjohnson you can get the weight down to 28lbs with a DHF 2.5 exo and aggressor 2.3 on those Enve m series or equivalent and a fox 36/rock lyrik. It is by far the most playful mid travel 20er. If you can find a way to demo one I highly recommend it.
