What an amazing ride by Jack here! Right position and unreal race riding to keep Sir Gerhard in and get to the front. Great stuff

Amazing ride and the horse travelled strongly throughout, Jack was very smart with positioning and when he asked the horse delivered 🙌🏼

Champagne day for the bookies. Horses were falling all over the place. Some horses seem to be knackered after Cheltenham.

Wonder if there’s a reputable study - say over the last 10 years - into Cheltenham performers who finish in the first 4 that then run at Punchestown.
@slitsk2 жыл бұрын
Same last year too, lots of the horses winning grade 1s all season came undone at Punchestown. All really tired I'd say. Find it best to leave out most of these odds on horses at this fest.

Exciting race to watch from a viewers eyes but a terrible race in the punters pocket. I had Dysart, not bothered about losing some cash I just hope the horse is OK because it's not like him to run out of gas and definitely not in the blink of an eye like that. Mighty Potter had a rough Cheltenham so very impressive from him today, I know a lot was expected off him in March so I'm happy that he had his day in the spotlight today (and what a performance from jockey too!) Sir Gerhard probably found this too soon after Chemtenham and I'm sure he'll be back amongst the winners in no time.

I have to disagree with you there mo mo sir gerhard run 6 weeks after Cheltenham is plenty of time for a horse to recover, plus he got boxed in at a vital stage, hit a hurdle plus another factor. Two years on a run has not performed at the punchestown festival coming 3rd both times maybe he don't like the track.

Sir Gerhard stopped remarkably similarly in this race to how he did in the bumper at punchestown last year. Looks like he simply doesn’t handle the track. Either way looks like his trip is 2m4f
@lorristan2 жыл бұрын
Im not so sure it was the track. It may be that he was over the top for this campaign and his target for next year will be the Cheltenham festival and if they meet there again then my money will be on Sir Gerhard. I also thought that Dysart Dynamo would show a lot more than he did, Take nothing away from Mighty Potter but Gatsby Grey in 2nd at 100/1 does tend to suggest to me that both Sir G and DD both under performed by quite some way.
@Ben-xl4hp2 жыл бұрын
Today should have given team Mullins the clue they needed that Sir Gerhard should head for the Turners. Let’s hope he doesn’t have the same fate as some other recent ballymore winners like Envoi Allen and Samcro. Fingers crossed Bob Olinger won’t be added to that list

There was some very doggy results today , can they really use Cheltenham as an excuse most these horse are saved all year maybe 1 or 2 runs . The horse that finished 2 was been pushed along over 3 fences out and smoked sir Gerhard like he wasn’t there . Last time they races he was 30L behind.

Yup watch rest of festival and many so called favourites from their own stable will be beaten by big outsiders. There is always fixing in racing... Bookies are the biggest culprits. If a horse is not trained to be fully fit for the race they'll lose. Easy to fix.
