Thanks for your video, I tackled the starter today, took it apart & put it back together, the housing was backwards & the marks was not lined up , making that right fixed my going backwards problem, thanks again . . . 👍👍

Sir , I haven't seen any other videos on it , but I have a 25 hp Johnson , the starter turns backwards, the gear will not lift , shaft turn wrong way to lift the gear, can you help ,

what did you use to clean the contacts on the starter deal itself along with what solution was that you used for cleaning the lower starter cap?. dont want to screw my starter up so asking whats safe to use on both i saw one guy use a pencil eraser seen others use emery cloth

I used a 1000 grit paper and then steel wool for the contacts. The housing I used varsol. Thanks for watching.

That was amazing. You make it look so easy. What was the cleaner that you used to clean the parts? The piece you made to hold down the brushes was a great idea. Great video.
