So GOOD! You really have found a LOT of patterns for stashbusting and miniskeins!! Thanks for showing us the trick of keeping the beginning end accessible when you hand wind. So clever! It was great to see you wearing your Cider Mill, complete with coffee cups (one of my favourite parts). Also, so great to find out that even you have oopsies with washing your lovely knits. Thanks so much for your videos, Jen.

Jen, Thanks for this video. I know it’s refer to it again. I’m obsessed with the Purl Soho blanket but so many choices. What I really got out of this video is an important reminder to be thoughtful and use restraint in planning the next project. Sometimes I just use the ‘squirrel’ method. Another good NY resolution. Thanks again. ❤🎉

Oh yay, glad you liked it! I love, love, love that Purl Soho blanket. Such a great reminder to me too to not just cast on a bunch of things or buy yarn with no plan ... it's hard sometimes! (There's so much out there!) Happy knitting and thanks for watching!

This is a great list! Now I have a bunch of great ideas for all my sock yarn leftovers. We're getting the snowstorm today in PA, so I'm watching with coffee and working the ribbing on my Me Time Tee.

Gahhh! I had my pattern (simple wide stripe, st st cowl/tube, for wrapping 2x) picked out, minis/bits&bobs in a large basket. Then I watched. Most are in my queue of wanna-makes. Garter Marler half circle is my dream! Sea Glass anything … pure gorgeous-ness!! I cringe at all the tails, tho… I may be swayed to try… I might make my advent/minis loop cowl with chevron stripes… I’m sure I won’t use up alllll the little bits, and I just need to re-visit this video to whet my whistle for more ideas & inspiration!!! Thank you, Jen! I can’t wait to see what you create, it will be beautiful, surely!!!

Haha - sorry!! 😂 That's what happens .. there are just so many good patterns out there! The marl is so, so cool and all the Sea Glass for sure. The Sea Glass patterns have a video tutorial to show you how to deal with the ends as you go! Thanks so much for watching and happy knitting, whatever you choose to cast on!

I know a lot of KZbinrs who have a granny stripe blanket that they have been working on for years. Using their scraps and minis just for that project. I really love that Stephen West marled shawl, I’m looking for a big blanket type shawl to knit.

Yes - my friend has a big granny stripe sock yarn blanket that she's been working on for a few years. Love that idea! I love the marl shawl too ... looks so cool and a great use of leftovers!

Hello. Happy New Year to you and your family. I am trying to knit. I think I am making it harder than it is. I want to make a pair of socks and hopefully I am going to achieve this goal in 2024 . Determined!😊 Would love to do a sweater- the Sea Glass Sweater- of my goodness! I have been crocheting for a long time and was overjoyed to hear and see that there was a crochet pattern- yessssss! Will continue my goal to learn to knit and look forward to your Saturday videos. Enjoyed all Vlogmas episodes!😊

Quick question Jen, what in your view makes the perfect yarn shop? I can usually tell when I first walk in whether it will hit all my checks, but I was just wondering what other people think. Take us on a tour of your favorite yarn shops! Just an idea. Thanks.
@JenGeigleyKnits9 ай бұрын
That's a great idea - I will add that to my list! I can usually tell if there's a welcoming vibe, but I love a quiet shop where I can just look and wander around too. I'd love to hear what you and others think too!

Try soaking your Cidermill in hair conditioner and water and you might be able to block out some of the shrinkage. I’ve had some success doing this and also with a fabric softener and some water, it just gives the yarn some of its moisture back . I’ve never tried lanolin but that would give the yarn its moisture back too. 🤞🤞🤞
